engine swap cts 2.8L to replace 3400

Question, I have a sand rail with 3400 out of 02 olds. Have been offered an 06 cadillac cts 2.8L. Wiil they interchange with adapter I currently have and will I need the cts ecu.

The 2.8VVT from the CTS should bolt up just like the 3400 did. And yes, you will need the PCM and who knows what else to get it to work correctly. The 2.8VVT will use a fly-by-wire TB, so either rig the pedal to work (or use the CTS pedal assembly), or replace the TB and figure out the routing for the cables. The PCM will also be looking for inputs from the tranny, so that would have to be sorted out. I'm sure there are plenty of other things that need to be addressed as well....
