  • Top-end swap checklist?

As in another post I'm looking at doing my LIM gaskets 'cause they are leaking pretty bad now and figured I might as well put an 00+/LG8 top end on my older (1997-year) L82 3100...

So I'm still trying to gather the parts--UIM, LIM, TB and heads, but in the meantime I'm also getting the gaskets and other stuff I'll need for the repair/swap...

Right now I've got the following already...

-Fel-Pro MS98003T (LG8/LA1 application) Perma-Dry Plus intake manifold set (has UIM/LIM gaskets, valve cover gaskets, stat seal, black RTV)
    -Fel-Pro ES74017 Head Bolt set
    -Fel-Pro 9957PT PermaTorque Head Gasket (x2)

I'm guessing I'll also need the following other parts as well?:
    -EGR Gasket
    -Throttle Body Gasket
    -Exhaust Manifold Gaskets
-Torque Wrench (have a bigger one but not a lower-torque one that's required)
    -Torque Angle Meter
    -Serpentine Belt remover tool
-High-Temp threadlocker for the intake bolts
-new injector and fuel connection o-rings

    Other things to have done:
-tap the coolant connection on the LIM as it's threaded on my car and a press fit or something on newer cars IIRC.

Is there anything I'm missing or anything I don't need on that list? Should I get new intake bolts as well?

Also I noticed Fel-Pro also has "Severe Duty" head gaskets, part number 511SD but they are special order. Are these worth getting (I could return the other ones, no problem) or should I just stick with the regular ones I bought? Or should I buy GM ones (does GM/Delco have their own because I didn't really find them anywhere though I didn't try that hard, lol). Also same question on the head bolts, should I buy GM ones instead?

Anyway sorry I'm being a noob, it's the first time I'm doing this myself... Thanks for any advice you guys could give!
Working...
