Nope!! 8.6:1 and turbo. I can still load up the program and look over what you have, I can also run it in non boosted state to see what is up.

Updated MSQ and today's log... Almost cold start to 175*F and then restart. Note the immediate difference between the idle speeds between starts.

:edit: Also crawled under the car today to find out where the bolt that was laying on my garage floor came from... Turns out it was from the ball and socket flange on my driver's side header (where it connects to the crossover pipe). Put it back in and the O2S reading now goes up to about .29V and won't go higher (I'm guessing it might go higher under load but who knows). It had been going up to .58V or so under the same conditions...

Things seem to be getting better... A little.

Still having the issue with the almost 800 RPM difference between idle speeds when started cold and restarted hot. And starting is still being a pain in the rear...

Took a bunch of fuel out of the VE table and got rid of a lot of the bucking. Now it feels pretty gutless...

I have been using the VE Analyze Live to help with the VE table the last couple of days (I was right in thinking the O2S reads better under load). I think that the AFR table it's using is pretty weak in the acceleration bands (above 60 kPa). It seems to me that I read somewhere that the 60* likes around 12.5:1 for acceleration?

I finally filled the gas tank the other day (for the first time in 3 years!) so I have plenty of fuel to burn messing with this thing... Gas gauge is pretty weird, but what can I do about that when I'm not even 100% sure of what the tank capacity is (I've read 3 different things in 3 different places... All I know is that I was just below 1/4 tank on the gauge and it took 10 gallons to fill it).

          VEAL is helping.

Still having the starting issues, mostly with extended crank.

Still having the idle control issue. The issue is NOT the IAC as I know it works and I have seen it work in my spare TB.

          Now I'm having new problems:

False spark knock reports. I have the knock module (MS requires a TPI V8 ESC module added to the knock system I didn't originally have in this harness) currently disconnected and TS is still showing knock counts and knock retard. Even with knock sense completely disabled.

Cannot manually adjust VE or spark tables. Completely grayed out. Turn laptop off and on again several times, go "offline" and back "online" again, connect up to running MS or leave it disconnected, nothing. I've tried a sample "new project" and reloading my 3100 project and nothing there either. Haven't gotten a response via MSEFI yet... Wondering if anyone else has had this issue and knows how to resolve it?

Well, I got the grayed out menus to go away, and I'm back to fighting with this thing.

Seems like something I did while trying to get access to my tables may possibly have gotten the idle speed situation handled. However, the drive-end housing on my starter literally BROKE and I'm getting a new starter tomorrow because I can't find my backup... So I can't do anything until I get the new starter in.

Still dealing with the false spark knock indications.

Got the cold start to work better for me somehow. Hot starts are still being a pain.

Downloaded MegaView. I took my latest log and ran it through the VE Analyzer there and it wants me to add some 40 (yes, FORTY) points in the middle of my VE table. Currently, that spot is around the 80 range and it's saying to shove it to 130! I'm guessing I should probably adjust my AE, but I have no idea how far. The thing is that I haven't had any issues whatsoever with the engine choking out in First gear (I've laid a couple 50-foot strips of rubber in First) but anything above that and I get the drop-out. Anyone have a decent starting AE pulsewidth (no, not the cold one) I could try? Right now, I'm at around 2.0 ms.

                I might have confused you...

My hot start problem is with the cranking PW, not the ASE, which I have disabled because I don't need it when hot. No matter how I adjust the hot PW, I can't seem to get the engine to want to fire when cranking without TPS input.

I'm also looking for a sample accel enrich PW (AE), not afterstart enrich (ASE).

Well, I got the starter in and reset the tune with the tune I had been using up until the error with the menus.

I have the hot crank PW working, but it's the initial fire-to-full run that's giving me fits. I already have the hot ASE at 0 and disabled. According to the TS indicators, the warmup enrich is kicking in? I thought that was supposed to be disabled above 160-165?

ID:	377670warmup_curve_2013-12-30_09.12.46.zipIt should shut off when you are no longer adding any fuel, in my case it is 135 degs. thats when my table settings = 100% means i am not adding or subtracting any fuel, just running off my fueling table only. Check your warm up table and see where you get down to 100%- thats where the warmup should shut off.

WUE is set to shut off at 160-165 or thereabouts (at 100%). From what I understand from looking at the laptop during starts, the MS is using the WUE as ASE on hot starts, which is completely idiotic. Neither is supposed to be on period above 160-165, so why is WUE turning on as ASE at 180+?

Still can't seem to get the AE right... I think it's set around 4ms or so right now and I still can't tell if the engine is being flooded or leaning out when I get in the throttle hard above First gear...

WUE is not used above 160 if you have the 160 bin set to 100%... Look at the WUE gauge on a hot start, it should be at 100%. ASE is something totally separate from WUE.

EDIT: Actually, I think the WUE gauge include ASE, but just remove the ASE if you don't want it, they are separated...

Again, that is not what my laptop shows when the engine is hot. Neither indicator for ASE or WUE should be lighting up when the engine is started hot. ASE is NOT lighting. WUE IS LIGHTING just briefly after the engine starts when hot. Which indicates to me that the MS is using the WUE as ASE when hot.

This morning I completely disabled the accel enrichment... The engine actually behaves now... as long as I'm not under WUE. Thanks to our crappy highway department and their mess at the end of the street, I got pretty sideways this morning . Up through Second.

Oh, just remembered you're running the B&G firmware. That explains a lot :P

I am running MS Extra at 2.505- Just a thought, can you disconnect your TPS at the controller and take the car for a drive? It might stumble on throttle opening a little but see if that changes anything. I had a TPS cable that was too close to my plug wires and was causing noise on the TPS signal that would cause accel enrichment anytime above about 2400 rpm. Made up a new shielded cable and rerouted to cure problem. Might help figure out whats going on, hope it helps.

He should be able to check that in the data log with the TPS connected.
