  • 4t65e-hd with ms3?

Looking at swapping in a 4t65e in my cavalier and was wondering if ms3 can control it or should i just use the controller for the trans i would rather not spend 900 on a controller and just use ms and a whole engine and trans standalone. So anyone know if ms3 is capable of doing it?

Has anyone used the MS3 on a 4t40e or 4t45e? if so i dont see why not. i'm just not sure if the 4t65e will fit in there...

Do you mean physically? if so then yeah a couple people have done this swap but one went with micro switches and shifts it manually and the other bought the controller itself and is i believe also using the stock ecm his name is torx or something like that

Is your car OBD1 or OBD2?

I know that you can convert a MS2, Microsquirt, or GPIO to use as a trans controller. But not as a engine controller and a trans controller at the same time. Say, if you convert a microsquirt to be the trans controller, and use a MS2 or MS3 for the engine, you can connect the two controllers using CAN bus. That way they can exchange information such as engine speed, etc. Also, you could change your trans controller settings through the MS. This also works with the GPIO. GPIO is a little cheaper than the other two.

I just asked MS about this. For possibly either staying 4T60 and a possible upgrade to 4T65. This is what he wrote back:

The transmission control is a separate box - currently, this can be done with the GPIO board, which is sold as an unassembled kit.

Personally, I have no idea what a GPIO board is, and I needs to learn. :P

A "true" High flow converter, straight pipe.
Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.

If I had to make a guess I would say General Purpose In Out board, but I've no clue.

I linked to it up there ^^^

Follow the directions to build the board for a 4L60E but it'd be up to you to make it work on your 4T60E. Not too difficult I imagine.
