  • Cheap, yet good diagnostics software

I'm looking for some good, yet cheap, diagnostics software. It would only need to be able to do OBD-II since that's what all of my vehicles will soon be. I am looking for either a hand held scanner or something that will work with my Palm Pilot. Anyone have any ideas or know something that I could check out? I would like to data stream stuff rather than simply pulling codes.......

So has anybody actually used that Auterra software? It looks awesome and you can get some good prices on ebay.

"Yup its up goto the reviews/howto's on the left forum menu.

Its real cool and works well."

That was his reply. Here is a link to the review.

Hmm, I wonder how it measures HP and 1/4 mile times.... I can see it being able to time 0-60 based on the VSS and just timing it.

Well, I think I'm getting it for Christmas from my parents. Either that or I'll just buy it off ebay later on. Thanks for the info Ben.

If you know how fast you are going then you know how far you have gone. For the HP readings it just takes a few sensor readings and throws them into a formula.
