I added a link in the first post to a table I made listing each vehicle in it's own column, I found another interesting application, the olds aurora short* V6. I was going to hit a JY today to get a PCM for the bin file, along with the rest of the parts that I need for my desktop PCM reader/flasher.

ok, here's an interesting update:
12200411 or 0411 as it's more commonly known is a V8 PCM. well, it turns out, it is also a V6 PCM, used in 4.3 V6 applications from 2001-2002. not sure if this means anything for us yet, but I though I would share."I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. I have broken with society for reasons which I alone am able to appreciate. I am therefore not subject to it's stupid laws, and I ask you to never allude to them in my presence again."

found an interesting bit of info, both LX5 and LSx wire up in a similar manner, but the LX5 uses one large ICM, and the LSx engines use ICM's integrated into the coil. whether or not the PCM is capable of controlling the LSx coils or not, I'm not sure, for that we need more information.

a little update:
in the shortstar bin there is a setting for crankshaft resolution,
so maybe changing the setting to 1 for the 7x/24x settings, and running a 3 wire crank sensor on the 7x trigger to bypass the ICM could net coil per cylinder ignition.
for the crank sensor, I was thinking about the possibility of using a cam position sensor. it may need a sleeve to fit the sensor hole, and to adjust the depth, but I think it should probably work.
This is all assuming that this flag doesn't switch the entire ignition system from CPC to DIS."I am not what you so glibly call to be a civilized man. I have broken with society for reasons which I alone am able to appreciate. I am therefore not subject to it's stupid laws, and I ask you to never allude to them in my presence again."
