I was more wondering about P/N/D settings in the PCM, If the PCM was seeing the car as neutral all the time, or drive.

I can't remember but I would have to say it was set to neutral. I think I can log what the computer think it runs in. I would have to look through some past info to see where I set it. I copied my driving to my neutral settings where possible.

I set all of the P/N settings to the same as the D settings, so it shouldn't be a problem either way, but I would still be interested to see the settings you're running!

        Thanks-

I wired my harness so it would believe it was in N or D. I can't remember which one. I know it isn't Park and I haven't had any issues with reprogramming. Fairly sure I wired it so it think that it's always in drive.

My car doesn't have the selector switch attached anymore.. The neutral safety wires have been wired together.

I found it easier to bypass all safety switches and then go back and add switches as you want them. I don't let people drive it so I made mine as basic as possible.

That is a different switch. Another switch allows the starter to be used. In automatics it is set by P/N from a linkage off the gear selector. The PCM doesn't control starter in P/N or Drive. For a manual, that switch is better placed behind the clutch (w/ proper clutch switch) so the car won't start until the clutch is depressed. The PCM P/N versus Drive settings are basically for fueling and other little details.

Eric, you could also use the output from the PCM controlling the automatic shift solenoids for other custom functions. Like once the car goes over 5 mph, power a relay to disengage or engage any function. There being only 2 solenoids with a p4 way pattern.... 00, 01, 10, 11

Example being a rev limiter for launch control. Once the vehicle exceeds 3-5 mph the launch control disengages. Or activate another device in cruising ranges.

I considered a user safety switch which cuts all custom switches. Hide it under the dash just in case. But ultimately the only dangerous switches would be boost control and meth injection knobs.

                  That is great!

Try setting all your shift points to the max allowed and turn off all torque control.

I imagine you might of had the PCM pulling timing during what it thinks is a shift event. Other wise, setting the vehicle to be in P/N might make a difference as well, as Eric was saying. The PCM has different settings for accel enrichment in both P/N or D.

Another one might be the throttle follower settings. Adjusting those for a manual swap isn't unheard of. Changes the way the IAC acts between shifts, which an auto PCM would think is throttle off and might engage DFCO.

It drives totally normal now I think. No matter how fast am driving throw it in neutral and it idles. That one setting made everything go away and act like it should but just no cruise everything should be off or maxed

Ehh, don't fix what isn't broken, lol.

I am glad you were able to fix your issue.

Well according to him it is broken... He has no cruse when its in manual mode... There has to be something that triggers that. I'll have to dig through the bins later, might require a pin change or something but I don't know.

I wonder if the PCM is looking for a clutch signal to turn on CC? I know the CC module looks for one.

That is possible, but you'd have to find a car that has that cruse module and a manual option to see what the CC unit wants to see... I attached the 1996 diagram for a Beretta CC unit, not sure if they are the same unit or not.

Going by that the Disengage input just goes to a second switch that appears to be on the clutch, vs the shift interlock system which he said is removed on his. Other than that I don't see any other at vs mt differences in wiring.
