Descreened MAF Calibration

I would like to avoid the argument of whether or not it is a smart idea to descreen our MAF's.

I would like to know if anyone has the calibration data for a de-screeened MAF? If so, that data would be greatly appreciated.

its going to be specific to the engine and intake that the maf is servicing, so really what you should do is get your tune right with the screened maf then remove the screen and re-calibrate your maf for that change... Only making one change at a time allows you to properly calibrate the sensor to what its doing.

I know... I am being lazy. Working on a couple projects at a time and working = no time. I was looking for an easy way out.

there is never an easy way for tuning unfortunately... base calibrations or ones others have done can be used but there will always be room for improvement which is why I just start from the ground up with mine most of the time.

I agree with 3500-95-Modified, also noting you will be able to tell if the descreen is the problem if an issue should arise. It may be a bad idea as the screen "balances" air flow. W/o it a whirling air current might flow past the sensor providing a misreading.

Could be wrong but tuning first then removing the MAF screen will rule out other possible causes.

An ounce of prevention can save hours of headache.
