  • Max Turbine Torque Tcc Locked

am new to tuning but was told I need to change my tourque management settings. The reason is because my HP I believe is more then what my PCM was originaly set for. My PCM is a off the shelf DHP v1.0 that I have made slight changes to as of late. I have a 02 GA 3.4l GT. So I was wondering what the Max Turbine Torque TCC Locked is because my value is set at 247.5 ft/lb's and I was told I should change it to 280 to support the mods I have. I have since added S&S headers, full 2.5" exhaust with high flow cat, Ported Upper and Lower intakes, 65mm TB, CAI, EGR Delete and a few other small things. So what do you guys think? Also What is the Max Turbine Torque Tcc Unlock for? I did post this on Powrtuner.com but I figured I would probably get a faster response on here. I am using a DHP tuner for this.

not such a fast response huh? you can raise the Tq management but you run the risk of damaging the trany. Also if you have a DHP 1.0 then it is a locked file that you can not change. chances are you have a DHP 1.5 Bin file if you are looking at its info and able to change it. i know that for the DOHC the max turbine tq is 208 ft/lbs assuming your using a 4t60e i wouldn't go much higher then 260 keep in mind when you are WOT the TCC is unlocked. this setting is for when the TCC is locked. you dont want to damage anything. IIRC max turbine tq unlocked is pretty high. 340 or 500 something. One place you can pick up some noticeable power from Tq management is the Max Tq for Upshift. again i wouldnt raise it too much and as you get up in the RPM to around your shift points its prob safest to leave stock but this is where you will pick up the power you want.

I don't think you need to worry about torque management unless your delivered torque is actually in the range of the computer cutting back power.

Well I was looking through my DHP manual and it said in the 1.5 DHP file that you should adjust both the Lock and Unlock to 600 on all tables for those. My original BIN file is DHP 1.0 and I can't find the 1.5 BIN file. I changed them to 600 but haven't drove it yet since I made all the changes plus other things. Should I change it back or just let it roll as that?

Well you have a 4t45e transmission which is rated at slightly more then the stock motor puts out I would just leave the settings alone if you want to keep your tranny in one piece.

again, the DHP 1.0 file is their mail order PCM. it is not editable! if you are able to open the file in the power tuner or any other tuner it is a DHP 1.5 bin. if someone were to download a 1.0 DHP from the PCM it would be encrypted if it lets you download it at all.

How would I know what I can adjust the Max TQ for Upshift to? Most of them are set to zero until it gets close to the bottom on the 1st to 2nd gear. The bottom half of this one is set at 5,6, and 7. The rest of the upshift tables are all set to zero. What do you think?

Ok i see the table your talking about. tq reduction... it is a percent. i dont have a 2002 file but i have a 2003 file and it doesnt seem to have the max tq for upshift table. i have a pic of the two bins th other is a 99 and it has the max tq table.

for the table you are looking at 0 percent would remove no power. so you would want to lower the numbers but for safety sake i wouldnt change them. if you do your shortening the life of your trany.
