  • ? about HPT

Do you need a Vin Licence to view a file and export tables? (not reading or writing)
    example - > http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?mmw4omunozk
    This is a file from a 98 Pontiac Sunfire 2.4L 5 Speed.

I am trying to get as many (all available if possible) Tables in xls etc.

The Vin of the file I have linked in post is
3G2JD12T3WS822691 and Osid should be 16754010

I can change Vin to what ever if need be, but dont know if its necessary?.

        Thanx for having a look.
Your not the only one who has that error.
Not sure if file is corrupt or encrypted.
I am digging deeper to see if it can be repaired or if I can get a good copy.

Have to be registered to read that thread and im not paying 100 bucks to convert hpt to bin. Sounds like someone writes the pcm with HPT and reads it with DHP.

The VCM ID would match up if you used a different PCM

It didn't take me long to ID over 20 tables.

I have been able to figure out how to convert some .hpt to bins, like the V6's but not the 4 Cyl yet, as Hpt seems to split them up.

Send me one of your Modified V6 .hpt files and I will give it a go.

i wonder if it's as easy as the tunercat .cal files.... those just had an extra 1K of space at the beginning of the file

No, as the HPT files are actually smaller then the raw Bin files.
Its a case of basically dumping memory and locating file and cutting it out.

I only want the ability to help those with a DHP tune their car. I don't have anything modified that I want converted for any particular reason.
