Well, i decided i need to get a little more familiar with the DHP unit other than just clearing out codes so i went to the yard picked up a '97 Venture ECM, get home download the bin, go out disconnect the neg, swap the ECM blue with blue clear with clear etc, connect the neg&the fan turns on and wont shut off...now im freakin out because i dont want my battery dying so i quick try to flash the bin into the ECM and of course...i forgot to get the VIN of the damn van...so now i cant even do a manual VIN entry.
i have the keyspan USB HS adapter and the baud was all the way up in powrtuner
Something is kind of weird though, the actual ECM itself is shaped like a shoehorn, there were two '97 ventures in the same area the first one i looked at was shaped just like my '96...this one is not.
Im not too worried about frying that ECM as they dont really care if it works or not and i think im going to swap it out tommorow for a different one...and NOT forget the VIN. i may just get another '96 ECM and start with that instead being i have the '96 bin saved to flashdrive&there are no differences in parameters but eventually im going to HAVE to have the '97...anyone know anything about this odd shaped ECM? anybody have any suggestions?
Ive spent alot of time researching and thought i had it about right...guess not.
