  • No spark advance at all

I've got a cavalier with alero 3400 99 into it, I don't have any spark advance, the timing always stays at 0 on the scanner, the car always run on the by-pass mode. We got the 5 volts (tan and black) to the igntion module who his supposed to transfert the control of timing to the PCM (over 400 rpm) instead of the ESC. We try an other ignition module, also have new coils. We check if it will be wiring trouble, but everything seems to be ok.

Do someone have any ideas, can it be the 24x crank sensors? Any suggestions will be appreciate.

(Sorry for my english, i'm a french guys from Québec)

are you sure the ICM is plugged in and hooked up correctly?

It sounds like something is wrong with the harness between the ICM and the ECM. It would be the wider plug on the module.

One of the plugs (2 pin) should have 12V across it. On mine it's a black and red wire.

Thanks you for answers, but we found are problem this morning, the purple wire to the ignition module who send the first information the transfer the control from ESC (by-pass mode) to PCM was cut.
