On this note of VE, will a VE tune affect my WOT tuning at all? Right now I get around 12.4 to 12.6:1 a/f at WOT

ok i got like 3 good scans from all of this today.
heres the bin file to go with all of this
first one is the drive i took for about 5 minutes and then stopped for a few in a dirt area on the side of the road and checked crap on the car.
the next scan is from the spot back to the garage. pretty much just drove normal got on it a few times made it back without fouling the plugs and eating any sensors.
this scan is just and idle scan and the video im posting goes with this scan. but after idling for maybe a minute or two it decides it wants to rev at 2k and nothing else not even a tap of the gas pedal helps.
its almost like it develops a vac leak mid run but if that were true it would be there all the time.
on a side note looking at the scan it seems to be running wicked rich during this whole ordeal. look from count 405 to 622.
this scan i was trying a different maf table mainly adding more to what was there, it seemed to help the overall LTFT, it brought it down from 23 until the car spazzed out.
oh yeah im running 15w40 rotella oil for the time being, then once the fueling is straightened out and everything is normal then it gets the 15w50 mobil 1

im gonna swap out the injectors with the other set i have that i know is good cause they are the ones i initially had in there and i didnt have any problems with them, they got swapped out when i was seeing if they were the noisy bastards adding to the noise.
also i think the IAC might be bad cause it zero's out alot in the scan.sigpic

Yes rule out injectors. Also, when it goes to 2k at idle, what is the TPS reading? I had a bad TPS on my 65mm LX5 TB that was reading 3-4% at idle, and would max out at 100% at about 70-80% open. Swapped a spare one over and I no longer had a climbing 2k idle and the resolution matched the pedal angle.
If you have 0 IAC counts you have a vacuum leak. I had that when I was putting on my bored/sleeved 62mm TB with a hand cut TB plate. It wasn't sealing enough and the air flow was too much, and high ass idle. The IAC counts were 0 as it was trying to lower the idle.
So I think you defiantly have some other issue than just needing a tune. Until you find out what is causing the grief tuning it will be a waste of time!
3400-modified: When you go WOT it does not adjust fueling real time, but goes off of what the LTFTs were to calculate what it will need and gives it that. That's why my WOT got better with a new O2 sensor. It doesn't read the O2 at WOT, but since I then had a more accurate cruise BLM (LTFT) built up, when it calculated WOT off of that it was more dead on.
It's possible you will need to tweak your WOT fueling after you get VE dialed in depending on what you have done to the WOT fueling area right now.Last edited by IsaacHayes; 09-13-2008, 08:08 PM.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

ill give the tps a try next time, swapped the injectors and got a new IAC for it. but when i fired it up it climbed to a high idle around 2k.
didnt get much done besides swapping parts, was getting late and running out of daylight and i was getting hungry so i went home
apaerently i forgot to check off the tps volts in the uv scanner app so it didnt get logged
i cleaned up alot down there and reorganized some things so. yesterday while i was down there doing the car stuff this guy stopped and asked me if i had any scrap metal, at first i thought he was looking for free metal then he said he had cash so i got rid of 4 gtz and 2 crosslace and a couple other beretta rims and he gave me 40 bucks. alot more than i was gonna get by just throwing them out.Last edited by geldartb; 09-13-2008, 08:49 PM.sigpic

ok got some scans from today this is after a new O2 sensor and IAC sensor. but now im getting weird or are these normal numbers for the iac counts, im used to them being much lower and not in the mid 100's-200's.
it idled with my help it seems to want to hang down low below 800 and lower, and none of the idle numbers are below 950.
the fueling still sucks even with swapped injectors, same injector just a diff set. this thing wont idle for shit.
heres the first scan
heres the second one
heres the third
and while doing the second scan i got some DTC codes here they are

and the maf might have came on when it idled real low for a bit.
seriously any help would be greatly appreciated. i must be looking at the wrong thing or something cause this thing is driving me batshit insane.
checked all the hoses and there all good so no there should be no vac leak and the gaskets are all new.sigpic

TPS reads 0 at idle?
High IAC counts means it's trying to give the motor more air. (0 is closed) Do you have the start up idle jacked up too high?sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

normally it would but i had to feather the gas to keep it idling at 1k or above.
it logs zero weird it will read 0.39 or sometimes 0
heres what the idle is and has been since the beginning of this post
the old iac's i had never read that high let alone anything normal this is a brand new one.
maybe ill have to open the plate back up to 0.65volts again i backed it down to 0.60 which it seems like it doesnt like it. all along its been at 0.65 and last week i dropped it down to 0.60 to see if it would be good.
if its trying to give it more air wouldnt it make it rev higher instead of barely idling around 1k. this thing without me helping it would want to idle anywhere between 500-900 and yeah that wont happen.Last edited by geldartb; 09-20-2008, 02:08 PM.sigpic

idle fueling is def way off the LTFT says its running lean but whats coming out the pipe begs to differ.
ive tried upping the maf 5% reset the spark to stock, idle is good for numberssigpic

The cam will make the ECM see it leaner than it is at idle. Tune accordingly for that.
That may be why the IAC is opening so much to keep it going, since it's got a ton of fuel.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

so what your saying is add fuel in areas in the pcm right.
if so then which areas. ive added 5% to the maf. VE next?
just wanna get it so it can idle decent aka on its own and actually get a sticker on it.
the iac opening up may be it doesnt like it down to 0.60 volts i had it at 0.65 using the adjuster screw on the throttlebody and that was when it was drivable.
its pissed at something what i dont know its got all brand new sensors.sigpic

well after i found out the TPS on the car was junk and swapped in another one i got it running and idling around 1k which is normal and stable.
heres a scan from today's run
its got a hiccup/skip if i let the car free roll with my foot off the gas, almost like its gasping for air, but i find that hard to believe since the car has been run before with the tps volts setup like this.
also the LTFT's are still ridiculous high on the lean side.sigpic

No I meant with overlap the ECM will see the motor as running lean when it's not, so pulling fuel may be needed in the tune for idle.
Set the throttle plate stop to stock, you don't want it open which will open the TPS and cause issues. Make sure the TPS reads as 0% at idle.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

yeah i figured thats what you meant.
so in actuality im not running lean at idle, but the computer thinks so. thats not gonna cause problems with the engine is it. like bad things that will kill the engine.
right now with it at 0.66v its reading 0% at idle.sigpic
