  • Mass Amounts of KR

Take a look at this scan, there are a few little blips of seemingly normal KR in different spots, but towards the end it shoots up to 20* of KR! During this exact section of the scan, I was coming up a fairly steep hill in 4th gear, if I would have let myself slow down anymore it would have downshifted. I went up a large hill earlier in the scan too, but it was at a faster MPH so it seems that it didn't produce any KR.

Is this mass KR coming from engine bog or what? It does seem like the engine is under load, but this motor pulls very hard it has no troubles making it up this hill at this speed in this gear... I don't see why I am getting KR here but not at WOT.

Also, does it seem like my cruise timings are low? The purpose of this scan was to cruise... aside from the 1 WOT run you see in here because the road was so open

What do you mean to test that? To log that information? This is from my Powrtuner.

cool, OT but are the dhp tuners vehicle specific? like can you use a dhp bought for a 2003 3800 on a 96 3100?

I think so, if the 96 has been mapped by DHP. It's been awhile since I've been on the DHP boards, so that may not be the case anymore.

OP, did you reset the PCM before taking that scan?

I see that you are in 4th gear @ 1500 RPM when it really starts knocking, your MAP is really high there too while the throttle isn't open that much. Can you adjust the RPM at which the tranny downshifts to 3rd? That should help...

With a larger cam you can get problems like this, Mine is terrible under 2k RPM. if i'm crusing in 5th on the highway and come up to a hill and the RPM's drop below 2K the engine bucks like crazy and i know for sure it's getting KR. Downshift to 4th and it runs like a dream.

              Your spark advance looks fine.
