Has anyone done an OBD 2 swap in a 94-95 W-body 3x00 obd1.5? I was wondering how much wiring will be the same between the two.. i have heard from some this is a fairly easy process, and from others that it can be the hardest thing they have ever done..

Just wondering if anyone has done this, or if there are any write-ups or anything on this?

Also, just noticed, Milzy is making a outrageously priced obd 2 swap kit for obd 1.5 vehicles. Is it worth it? I have had bad luck with milzy in the past, but curious... thanks guys

I don't know how much milzy charges, but I know for a fact that an OBD2 conversion to a 1994-1995 is NOT complicated without an adapter harness. You can do everything on the engine side.

I think you can just get an engine harness, swap it in, and add a sensor or 2 (and an O2 simulator).

The price for Milzy's swap (just shy of $1K) seems to include the labor as well. But that means you have to go to him for the installation. Just the kit would be nice and a lot cheaper but it would be hard to make them since all the powertrain-chassis combinations seem to have different wiring needs.

I am thinking about doing a kit myself, but it would be ONLY for the 1988-1994 Cutlass Supreme with the 3100 and 4T60-E. There is too many options to do an easy kit.

I did the swap on my '95 and was wicked easy. You need to grab the '96 wiring harness, knock sensor, downstream O2 harness, secondary EVAP solenoid and hose/bracket, EGR, coolant temp sensor, PCM and case/mount, and I think that's it. The wires that I changed on the '96 wiring harness at the C100 (firewall) connector are:

Pin K1: Splice this wire and add to location L1. Find a spare pin + short length of wire to do this. This is a heavy gage wire so make a good connection.

              Move pin E1 to A3

A1 no longer gets used so this is a freebie 12V wire. I think the reason why I didn't just use this for L1 was because this is a thin 18 gage wire, not thick.

Pin J2 is the second diag wire, this needs to go thru the firewall to the OBD2 port. I ran this along the existing harness going to the drivers side, thru a grommet. You may be able to run this thru the pass side but I couldn't see shit behind the dash.

Any other changes in the wiring did not matter for operation *for my car* going from a '95 Cutlass base to a '96 Lumina LS harness.

OH also grab the transmission gear/neutral safety switch that sits on top of the linkage. It has the same function, but the connectors are different.

awesome, i have heard from some people that a car swapped will run better swapped to obd2, even without tuning.. I cant wait until i actually get around to doin this

It's probably also possibly to re-pin just at the ECM with new connector. The guy with the 3500 corsica did that recently (issues). I need to ask him if he finished it up. It was running last I heard.

it's an option, but for my platform it was a lot more work.... I'd have to run several new wires underhood plus with the full re-pin, I went the lazy way.
