  • DIY OBDII to PC cable?

Does anyone know of a way to make your own OBDII to PC cable to scan for codes with a PC?

I bought allt he stuff to make an offboard cable for the DHP PT (except Power supply) but never built it. I need to look around and find the instructions and picture files. I have the pin placement guides and PCM connectors and interfaces, pretty much everything but the powerSupply(radioshack) and the software. You would need PC software of coarse and an OBDII connector........I will see what I have and get back with you

Thanks so much. That would be a great help. Do you know if this would also work with other OBDII vehicles, like say my 96 Ford Windstar, or is it only good for GM cars?

This only gets you a connector you can read a ECM with out of the car if you own a DHP PT...

You need to buy a ford specific code reader from wally world or something... They are not that expensive.
