  • turbo chip needed.

heres the situation, my 95 sunfire is getting a turbo 3400/3500 hybrid swapped into it. Plan on running it on a "standalone" setup that a TCE sells that runs on an obd1 1227730 ecm. Looking for a turbo chip that can run the car. Any burners out there that can help?

If you want to stick with a 7730, you'll pretty much have to tune it yourself.

I can send you a couple starter bins, depending on how large your injectors are, but it will be pretty far off and will run like crap. You pretty much have to get into it. I;ve been tunning a 7730 off and on for 10 years and my tune still leaves ALOT to be desired. Sad but true. I should have gone megasquirt in 2004.

Ive never used it, but Megasquirt is what I'd use.

'7730 running $59 (www.code59.org) does very well. I had mine tuned to a point of being good years ago, but as a person who constantly seeks perfection, I keep trying new things or making mild changes looking for improvements. Sometimes I find improvements, sometimes it goes the other way.

If you want to use a stock code, I'd recommend $58, over $8F.

There are other options, but they involve a pretty good understanding of the Delco ECM and swapping between codes. Another option I see as quite promissing is using a '7165 running $12P.
