Greetings.
I am hoping you guys can help me with a problem I am having using Tuner Pro RT v5 and the Autoprom from Moates.
First the specs:
TunerPro RT v5
Craig Moates Autoprom APU1
Dell 600M laptop with Windows XP and 1.5 GB of RAM.
Actron hand held scanner plugged into the ALDL to monitor engine data.
(Technically I am supposed to be able to datalog and emulate at the same time, but I have read that trying to do that with the Autoprom and $8F/7730 doesn't work. But that is a different problem for a different time.)
This is the first time for me trying to tune a car, but I was a certified GM mechanic in the mid 90's so I am very familiar with fuel injection. I have learned a lot from reading the forums about tuning so please bare with me if I have a stupid question.
The Car:
1991 Cavalier
Engine:
2004 3400 V6
24# Accel injectors
Remote mounted STS turbo.
2 Bar MAP sensor (new from Summit Racing)
Computer:
7730 ECM (stock V6 Cavalier) with a JET chip adapter (not using the JET chip).
$8F bin (Turbo Grand Prix)
$8F definition file. (tried multiple different ones)
The issue:
I am currently using the Autoprom to emulate only. I know the emulation is working. I can upload a bin to the emulator, verify it, start the car and it runs just like it had the chip in it. My problem is, I don’t think my changes are occurring to the bin. I change fuel tables and upload and there is no change from the engine. I don’t even see any changes on the Actron as far as BLM or INT from where I started. I even made huge changes to these tables that should have stalled the engine. I’m not sure what is going on. I even tried burning a chip with these ridiculous fuel parameters and it changed nothing. It still starts and runs normal. If I leave the chip out or don't enable the emulator, it runs really bad with the CEL on (trying to run on the stock $A1 memcal).
I changed the BPC vs. EGR% (EGR is off) from 105 to 20 with no change.
The checksum is off.
I am very frustrated trying to tune this car.
