If you unplug the ECM fuse, won't you have to perform an idle re-learn procedure, or is that only if you disconnect the battery?

I imagine you would, but for idle relearn what has worked for me was:

Key on (engine off) for 5 seconds
      Key off for 5 seconds
Key on (engine off) for 5 seconds
      Start engine.

At least this is how we did it while Ben was tuning my car, and it always worked.

I thought that was OBDII. The procedure for mine requires me to disconnect the battery for a few minutes, start the engine when cold with all power accessories off, let idle until operating temp, shut off for 10 seconds, restart and immediately put into drive, let idle for 5 minutes. DO NOT adjust any power accessories--no lights, door locks, radio etc. That's it. If I don't do it correctly, then my idle hunts at will.

Unless someone swapped OBDII in my car when we weren't looking while Ben was tuning it, it was OBD1 and it idled fine doing it the way I posted. Mine also never hunted at idle. Sometimes it would hunt a little on decel in neutral while slowing down, but never once it dropped the idle to where it was supposed to be.

I actually don't know the idle relearn for OBDII, other than start it and let it idle.

lol Mine did that too...until I did the idle re-learn. Try it. What have you got to lose?

Or solder in a switch where you can command PARK or DRIVE to the PCM. It won't prevent cranking as that is another switch already bypassed for the manual swap.

But the 92 wasn't a manual swap, it was a manual from the factory (needle in a hay stack) so there is no Park/N/D wires to the ECM to solder to. Besides, I was just ribbing Andy about the drive comment
