the only numbers that are matching on there are the 94-95 and the 16196401...

16191784 should be the part number of the memcal it came with, but i can't find any reference to that either....

so i'm not really sure what you have...

Well, like I said, the MEMCAL that was in it doesn't seem to be the one that was in it from the factory, like the person who owned the car it came from had to replace his factory one at some point, getting his replacement from a junkyard, like I have done in the past. I looked at the overall wiring diagram on AutoZone.com and it appears to be just about the same as the one I downloaded for the 3400 DOHC, with the exception of the Buick DIS in place of the standard 3100/3400 DOHC DIS system.

But, the point is moot. The question is, will this thing have regular OBDI codes and spit them out using the old A to B jumper through the ALDL and the SES light? I really hate to think I have yet another ECM I can't get rid of and can't use (already have a 1227727 in my garage that I got for my 93 Grand Prix that obviously won't work with a 1227302 or 1227730 system).

what are you talking about? the 1227727 and 1227730 are perfect replacements for each other, other than using different connectors and the 7730 not being waterproof...

I already knew the 730 and 727 were pretty much the same minus the casing, but if I have to rewire anything, I'd rather upgrade to a new fuel injection setup (SFI) with the 6401, as I am trying to do something that may have been done before but isn't done often and is difficult (same as upgrading the V6 to get decent power).

SFI adds nothing at all... when i converted from OBD1.5 with SFI to OBD1 with MPFI, it honestly feels stronger now(with a half-assed spark table, i might add).

people put too much emphasis on firing injectors in order...
