correct, but since certain pins defined in the algorithm, i'll need to see the pinouts from something that handled $58 natively since nothing got swapped around in the process of creating $59.

and with the help of the ludis doc on 7727 to 7730/49 interchangeability, i can get a good idea of what is going where.

been thinking. the turbo itself is a form of EGR...

just got ahold of the Syclone diagrams....

serial data: of course, how else will it get monitored/tuned?
diagnostic: might as well, you never know when you'll need to read codes with a paperclip.
        various grounds: yeah, obviously
O2: of course. it seems that Sy/Tys came with a heated O2 from the factory...
VSS: yes. Sy/Ty also seemed to have used a DRAC, which as far as i know, allows signals to be modified, like dropping every other reference pulse, etc.
MAP: 2bar, or 3bar, since 59 was made around it
        coolant temp: VERY necessary
        TPS: yes
        MAT: yes
wastegate control: why not? saves money on getting some other form of boost limiter. it seems there is also a coolant level sensor(turbo coolant) that is attached to the boost controller. maybe it limits boost based on coolant level? something to look in to. it also fires up a light on the dash.
TCC: i do like TCC lockup...
A/C Request: so long as it signals the A/C the same way that the DF ECM would, i see no reason not to hook it up to the 59 ECM. it also uses a low pressure switch to avoid burning up the compressor should the refrigerant get too low.
A/C relay: same reason as above.
        SES light: duh
CAC pump: i'm guessing this is for the air-water intercooler? i'm sure i could find a better use for it since i like air-air better.
knock sensor: wouldn't leave home without it.
        IAC: necesary for obvious reasons.
park/neutral switch: seems like it would be necessary for certain operations, best connect it to avoid complications.
B+: how else will the ECM get power?
EVRV: my preferred form of exhaust recirculation will already be at the end of the exhaust manifolds/headers, no need for more.
        ignition switch: of course
        injectors: seriously...
injector jumper: intrigued by this: is it for running high/low impedance injectors? need to research this a little. it's two pins that are interconnected, and then connected to the injector grounds...
fuel pump: yeah, uses the same "oil pressure switch backup" as what we're used to.
EST stuff: here's where everyone seems to have problems... and i'm going to confirm a few things before i make calls on how to wire it.

OK, i'm finally getting somewhere. came up with this a few minutes ago, feel free to point out any flaw in the logic.

also: i have the feeling that certain sensors shouldn't be connected to both ECMs due to electricity always taking the path of least resistance. so, how would someone keep one sensor, and then replicate it for the other ECM?

          Serial Data
only needs to be connected to the 7727 since the 9396 won't need to connect to the datastream. not sure how
this will affect the ABS though. could have a switch that allows you to read either ECM, in case of a sensor
          failure or something similar.

          Diagnostic Enable
7727 only. the 9396 should have most codes disabled.

          2nd Gear Start
9396 only. the 7727 would have no idea what to do with it.

          TCC
9396 only. as long as the lockup conditions are the same/similar, the 7727 will never know the difference.

          Gear Switches
          remove altogether.

          Shift Solenoids
9396 only. 7727 doesn't have the algorithm to do anything with them.

          Park/Neutral Position Switch
may need to be connected to both, not sure how the 7727 would react if it thought it was driving in park.

          VSS
9396 for sure, maybe for the 7727, not sure if there is anything that needs a MPH signal.

          SES Light
          7727 only.

          Shift Light
if you have a manual, why the hell are you running two ECMs? just use the 7727. remove.

          AIR
global warming doesn't exist, therefore neither does my AIR pump/wiring.

          CCP
          7727 only. 9396 shouldn't be controlling anything air/fuel related.

          EGR/EVRV
          see previous global warming comment.

          MAP
need a 1-bar for the 9396 to give it a good Barometric reading. need a 3-bar for the 7727 for ~28PSI.

          ECT
9396 and 7727 need it. 9396 uses it to determine if coolant temp is high enough for TCC lock.

          DIS/EST
          7727 only.

          Injectors
          7727 only.

          MAT
7727 for sure. 9396 might need it for EAP mode.

          TPS
both. 9396 uses it for shift points, 7727 for AE/DE/PE.

          B+
          both.

          Fuel Pump
either, really, but 7727 would make more sense.

          IAC
          7727 only.

          Grounds
          both.

          O2
          7727 only.

          Ignition Feed
          both.

          Power Steering Signal
          remove entirely.

          Knock Sensor
          7727 only.

          Fans
can keep connected to the 9396, as long as the settings match 59, then they will function normally, and what is normally controlled by the fan in 59, can be kept open for something else, such as an I/C fan or something similar.

          A/C Pressure Sensor
7727 doesn't use it, can still be connected to the 9396 to allow for use of 2 seperate fans.

          A/C Request
not sure on how the 7727 uses the A/C info, but as long as the settings match in DF and 59, can stay connected
to the 9396 with no adverse affects.

          A/C Control/Relay
not sure on how the 7727 uses the A/C info, but as long as the settings match in DF and 59, can stay connected
to the 9396 with no adverse affects.

          Clutch Switch
remove. manual trannies don't need a TCM!

          Wastegate Control
          7727 only.

          CAC Pump
          7727 only.

          Injector Jumper
looks like that's another way of saying ground... odd, but the wiring diagrams agree.

i want to do this.... if i can get ahold of a junkyard/ebay pcm and harness for cheap...and use a mask that i dont need to build tunerpro files for...hell ya
thats why i made that 8f def

that was basically my plan... except i was going to wait a bit longer until i was ready to swap on a boost-inducing hairdryer... first tune everything N/A, then swap on the snail and deal with the boosted portion of the VE and spark tables...

yep exactly....i would also like to make a very small xdf for the transmission options, and possibly redefine(relabel them in detail)...
but preferably i would like have an ostrich realtime tuner on the 59 mask :P

ostrich would work... you could even get two and probably run it through one laptop and tune both ECM and TCM at the same time!

as for making a smaller XDF: you would need to remove at least a few error codes for the engine part of the tune, and it would proabably be able to be trimmed quite a bit.

i don't think i made another thread for combining $59 + another PCM/mask to control a trans that uses a PCS, but it seems someone already accomplished it.

they're using the 0E mask, which was originally intended for a 4L80E(1994 IIRC), but the E6(1993 4L60E), 0D(1994-1995 4L60E) and 31(1995 4L80E) masks were also used with that PCM. i don't know if there were any pinout changes, but if someone was interested, i could look them up.

potentially outdated though, since $A1 should be able to run the 4T60E... so it may be A1 + 59 for a boosted motor with -e trans with no pressure control solenoid...

I has no need of auto trans I just wanted to run my engine with what it came with, but with some nice new features.

I modified $DF a long time back for a 2 BAR MAP. Merged in the parts of $8f that dealt with boost into $DF, left the boost controller part out though. Not quite as fancy as code59 with the double wide spark table but it works (ran 5-6 PSI on it for a year)

I have a .bin file with it already done (and modified for L67 injectors) and also the details/notes around here somewhere. I will dig it out if you still want it.

Also have the code to have a second 1 BAR MAP act as a dedicated barometer though it is redundant and un-needed.

I also have a AXKK $A1 bin that has been dissasembled. If you still wanted to use $A1 instead of $DF the same changes could be made to it. I dissasembled a good part of $DF based on others work on $8F and $58, there are a lot of commonalities between them (for example, the spark table lookup routine is the same, which makes finding the spark table in a new definition easier...)
