Yes, we are talking about a modified version of $8D (S_AUJP V4) but not for boost.

I've got a 3.1 with a 2000+ top end, Delta cams 260 regrind, 60 mm throttle body and headers with 1.5", 36" long primaries.

The point I was trying to make was in response to the comment that $A1 was better because $8D never had factory v6 bins. All I'm saying is that isn't necessarily the case. Because of how well this code is documented and the amount of information available for modifying it, it's possible that a good tune would be easier to achieve with $8D. It's worth a shot...this is just a hobby for me so learning new things is fun.

i never said it was better, just that for most people, it's already set up and ready to go.

as far as 8DB(oost), is that out of the beta stages yet? last i looked into it, it still was.
1995 Monte Carlo LS 3100, 4T60E...for now, future plans include driving it until the wheels fall off!
      Latest nAst1 files here!
Need a wiring diagram for any GM car or truck from 82-06(and 07-08 cars)? PM me!

I'm running DIS on my set-up. All you have to change are 3 constants to get $8D to work with DIS.

Just to be clear, I don't think there isn't anything wrong $A1.

S_AUJP is not set up for boost. You're thinking about another version of $8D.

I didn't make any pinout changes. I'm running a 7727. Honestly, I had 20 minutes on Sunday to play with this. I stuff 4 cars into my 3 car garage during the winter so my toy is wedged between bays. I quickly burned the code onto the chip and started it right where it sat. Let it run until the fumes started to get to me. I did take a quick log and all the sensors seemed to be recognized. It did get into closed loop which is a good sign. I'll have more time to play with it Thursday evening so I'll know more then.

I took my car out for a ride this afternoon with the 8D code finally. I'm really slow. :-) It definitely needs to be tuned and I've got an idle surge issue to work on but all things considered it didn't do too bad.

Just to close this out, I did the following to configure 8D for my 3.1 hybrid using DIS:

Set the "Number of Cylinders" from 0 to 192
Set the "SPARK ADV Initial" from 6.0 to 60
Set the "SPARK ADV Max" from 41.84 to -10
Set the "SPARK RET, Max for Knock" from -3.87 to -70
Set the "Cylinder Volume" from 713 to 515.69 (for the 3.1)
Set the "ERROR QUAL 41, Cylinder Select" from 0 to 08
Left the "Injector Flow Rate" at 22.08
Set the "VSS, Vehicle Speed Sensor Pulses" to the correct value for my setup (27106)
Set the "MANUAL OPTION" to 1

I checked the pinouts of my 7727 against a diagram for a 92 7730 V8 TPI L98 (which 8D was used in) with a cross reference to the "Ludis" page and didn't find any discrepancies. So no wiring changes needed for me at least. I have done a conversion from a carb'ed motor original to my "B" to the 3.1 FI motor so I'm only using the necessary engine sensors and nothing else. Everything checked out today...I was wondering about the VSS but it read fine.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. I'm running about 9.4:1 with my hybrid I believe. No progress to speak of since it's been so cold and salty here. When we get a little rain and the roads don't have any salt on them, I'll be back at it.

Super AUJP is what I'm using as well. Supposedly the launch timing retard isn't working...at least that's what the person who originally posted this particular update said.

How did this work for you? I have a 3500 that I have tried different codes on s ajup, nA$t1and $a1 with different results. Most of the time I get odd timing like 17- 24 degrees in tuner pro. I verified this with a timing light.
