yeah, this is the first time i've had issues.
i'm at work right now but i called my bro at home and he said they didn't try to deliver it today....
so now maybe it's at the post office?? if so wouldn't they leave a notice??
i'm pretty depressed... I think my swap kit is in limbo somewhere and it's so frustrating to know that it's somewhere in this damn city but i can't go and get it.
and the post office won't be open til monday... i don't know what to do

i feel bad updating this thread about this stupid bull that the post office is pulling, i'd much rather be posting data logs!
but they didn't try to deliver today either (i was at work all day...) but i'll go to the post office on monday... ugh... and see if maybe they stopped trying to deliver and have it there waiting for me. If it's not there i'm going to probably blow a gasket.

When datalogging and tuning, disable the EGR, and CCP so that does not add a variable into the mix. Then once you have logged, adjusted VE, logged again/etc and have it dialed in, you can turn back on the EGR and CCP and tune for those so that when those kick on the motor continues to run smooth. You can extrapolate the rest of the table cells from the 0% BPC though.
Example, (16.7/19)*(3350/3135)=.93922605. Take that value and put it in TunerPro and select the multiply function. Highlight all cells in the BPC table and apply. That will apply the adjustment to the whole table... so 224 becomes 210, and whatever else in the other cells gets adjusted the same amount so it all scales. Now you might have to do some fine tweaking but that will get you pretty close.......
using Isaacs formula i could get my bpc "pretty close" in all of the cells (not just the 0% cell)
I know what the EGR does. I know that it recirculates unburnt exhaust gasses back into the intake to be used again ultimately lowering emissions, increasing mpg, and lowering combustion temps. Is there any positive to keeping it turned off? because all of those reasons seem pretty good to me (i could care less about emissions...)
My EGR is in perfect working condition, so i'm considering just using the aformentioned formula and putting in my ballpark bpc.
Then again.. you guys DID say to turn it off during datalogging so as to not add in another variable. But AFTER datalogging i should be good to enable it again right?
BTW, one thing else that Isaac says to disable is the CCP. What is that??
And why would i want to disable it? I swear we haven't talked about that yet. I only caught it because i re-read this whole thread lol

CCP = the charcoal canister Purge. That burns off the gas fumes captured from the gas tank that on old cars would just vent to the air... Once again, disable while tuning, then once VE is in line, re-enable. If the car miss-behaves with it re-enabled, then you might need to tweak the tables that deal with CCP. Same thing for EGR. EGR BTW recirculates burnt exhaust gases, no such thing as unburnt exhaust unless you have a miss-fire lol... Well I guess if you consider the exhaust gas before the cat might contain some unburnt fuel, then I guess that makes sense... hehe But it works by displacing air, thus making the motor smaller displacement to gain mpg as well.
Once you re-enable, it should be good with the BPW if you applied the math right. But you may need to tweak that, or tweak the EGR spark table too (adds spark when it turns it on). Negative with EGR other than them failing, is it puts carbon into the intake manifold and that mixes with the oil vapor from the PCV and makes it look nasty inside... plus it heats up the intake manifold since it's tied to the exhuast manifold...Last edited by IsaacHayes; 11-22-2009, 03:36 PM.sigpic New 2010 project (click image)

Update:
Install went smooth. The car fired right up and seemed to idle much better than before. I put it in DRIVE while having my foot planted on the brake and unlike last time when it started to buck and lurch it actually just sat there and idled nicely.
This elated me as you can well expect, but what made me even happier was there was no check engine light on and when i used my actron scanner to check for trouble codes (91 lumina lol) it said "no faults, system pass." which i was NOT expecting right off the bat.
Then i streamed live data, using the actron scanner again, and waited til it read 194* F coolant temp and then lo and behold my rad. fan turned on right where i had programmed it! (not a big deal to most people but i think its great)
Only issue i DID have was that the dual turbo log manifold that is my wiring harness didn't fit down into the corner of the engine bay so i couldn't reuse my old mounting bracket, but thats not a big deal to me. I'm just going to secure it with something else when the time comes. For now i have it hanging out so i can swap chips with ease.
The next step is data logging!!!
John, i'll be sending you my old pcm within the week since i have no longer use for it.
With such a seemingly small margin for error i can't believe that we've pulled this off so far!Last edited by tkoforpresident; 11-24-2009, 01:49 PM.
