i have a 88 Z24 and i swaped 99 3400 (stock) i want to know the difference between the auto and manual trans tune ? because right now my car is a 5spd and i am going to go auto right after i can build it . and i see that the chip's avalible for my car has manual,auto.but why? i did not think that the trans was computer? do they detune for a auto ? i need a chip for my car but dont want to buy 2 and i dont like the idea of detuning just because i want a auto trans

you should download Tunerpro.. then the ARUR and ARUT bin files from my sticky on V6z24 and run a compare...

Auto code has a different VE and spark table since the auto trans puts different loads on the engine, auto bins also have TCC controls enabled.

there are 875 mapped differences in the stock code, 1894 differences total.

k cool i will d/l that is it on there wed site ? i will not be runnin the lock -up in the torque .
so the two files you have up there are they one auto and one manual?
i will that a look at them but i don't know what i am looking at !

well i got that program and the bin's you talked about and i cant even make them work. show's how much i know about PC's LOL

i believe the speedo pulses per mile are different, and it has timing based on TCC lock/unlock. the 5 spd has shift light programming, and i'm sure other things i haven't looked at--no need to. lol

yeah i was just wondering if it does anything to the motor in output any ?

no, it will just throw a check eng light. the ECM looks for either the stick or auto based on the tune. if what it's tuned for isn't there, then it throws a code. something about a gear switch error. my car hasn't run for just over 3 months, and i'm losing practice. lol
