  • $88 code mask

    ok i just got my first file from gmtuners.com and they said it uses the $88 code mask. instead of the $A1. i cant seem to find it anywhere!!! i swear ive seen it b4. i havent treid teh A1 to see if it will even work for datalogging cuzz i have to take my car to a friends house to get a log (STILL having laptop issues). i wanna be ready so i can get a log for sure

    any1 know where i could get this? i checked moates too

      nope, i have an analog. i sent them the file is got my datalog from so im assuming they copied everything over (im guessing u asked that cuz its for a digi dash?)

          alright, im not shure y they use the $88.. they said it was a newer code or something like that. what year is it from?

          the guy from gmtuners left to go on a trip friday morning and wont be back till tuesday so i cant just ask him for a copy..

            $88 is older, it's what was used in the V6 Fbodies iirc...

            $A1 is the newet/best for the pushrod V6's

                ok i got some info, i guess the $88 had differnt things to tune or something like that. he doesnt know of any $88.ads file and assumed that the $a1 would work. he told me to try freescan and if that didnt work he would retune in the a1. but freescan acually worked for me! i was shocked because ive never been able to get it working

                  $88 sucks. Its 1990 code and has nothing to do with an F body. Their ECM is different anyway. A1 is much more complete, and more up to date.

                    well now im having problem with freescan logging and tunerpro works. wtf right? (but only with the bfuz and A1) so i asked if they could just convert it to the a1..

                    the car seems to run strong but still wont idle (except when its cold) and rich under wot... its gettin there tho!

                      At 06B5 in the .bin, what is the hex value? This is for that $88 code mask file.

                              hex editor was right but you scrolled down way too far. 6B5 if that helps (ignore the 0 in front). Its a different address in A1 however.
