  • Wideband with OEM ECM????

    Hey Everyone,

I was just wondering IF you can run a wideband O2 with a stock ECM? and if so WOULD the stock ECM fully benifit from using one? The reason I ask is cause I thought that a wideband O2 is only used with a EFI system made to handle one OR just as a AFR tuning tool.

    Thanks.

Usualy used as a tunning tool, but you have to mess with computer code if you wanto intergrated into the computer. Code59 is a good code if going boost.

So do I just download this to my Tuner Pro RT?
Does this work with non-boosted engines?
Will this benfit my factory ECM?

If you don't have some wild engine configuration i doubt it's worth the effort. they put it in code 59 because guys would be running like 30 PSI of boost with god knows what else going on.. they would need more accurate o2 readings VS something alot more mild. To run it you would have to start from scratch and re-tune the engine, that would take several weeks of work.

Yes, like i said before.. it will work with non-boosted engines.

I enabled the WBO2 fueling in $59 briefly about a week ago, just to see how it worked, I did this at idle and just off, without driving the car, looked to update very quickly and control the AFR very quickly as well. My tune still isn't close enough to enable it full time, just yet.
