so i STILL cant figure out freescan. i think i have gotten it to connect and save files but nothing really happens? can some1 explein to me step by step on what i do and exactly what its sposed to do at that point in time?

i have found a shop that will dyno tune my car at 70/hr but they wont do anything till i get my data logger working.

another question. exactly what values do they need to see to tune it? would a scan tool do the trick? my friend has one and it tells you a lot more than just codes on my car but idk if its enough

I dont use freescan so no help here, but using a scan tool will not do the trick unless you can save the data and view it after the run.

I am not N/A so I don't think TTS would be of great help for you.

          freescan sucks.. lol

Tunerpro RT is where it's at. you'll need to download it from www.tunerpro.net, then the $A1 .xdf file and the 1227730 $A1 .ads file (which i'll be uploading to my thread on V6z24.com sometime soon..)

with tunerpro you plug the ALDL in to the computer and the car and click connect.. then when you want to record you just hit record. you can output .csv datalogs or even play back the recordings and watch everything as it happened.

i also just varified it again and it said it was functional and working correctly BUT there wasnt a cable attached....

I would use the USB cable if you're currently using the serial/com style cable.

so wait.. you are datalogging with this?

This is for any pre-1995 (OBD1) GM vehicle. Everything except the 1995 LT1. You should be able to datalog all of them, and reflash the 94 LT1 as well. Comes with XtremeALDL and NewCABL1 (RJ45/Moates-specific new style). There's a switch on the side which allows you to select 10k (across pins A&B of ALDL) or 'Open' mode. You use the 10k mode for older TBI and TPI setups, and the 'Open' for newer Speed density and LT1 stuff. This item can be used with TunerPro RT, TTS Datamaster, TunerCat reflash for LT1, WinALDL, and EFI Live V4(OBD1).
