  • OBD I conversion?

    i read something on here about a OBD I conversion and got a little confused...
    am i just swaping pins or what? if anyone could dumb it down a but for me it would be greatly appreciated

      You have a 4t60-e right? So that means going OBD1 won't work since you need an ECM to control your trans. Going OBDII would be the way to go. swap engine harness/interior harnesses and ECM.

        the 9369 apparently has some extra ram for trans control... at least thats what i hear... i just dont know how the process is done.. id love obd II its just alot of work..

          Yes, the 9369 ECM is an option. The 93 GP was available with a 4T60E, so OBD1 is an option. But OBDII is a better choice.

                technically it's OBD1, but it doesn't use the EPROM, it uses flash memory like OBD2 does. It's like a hybrid of sorts, hence the "OBD1.5" nickname.

                  i know oh a guy that claims he can change minor details on a 1.5... any one believe this to be valid?

                    One of the companies that sells chips and stuff can do the same. Just remove speed limiter and a few other minor things with a hex editor, then upload the new program with a tech2. But nothing that really will let us open it up and tune it for mods and such.
