  • i think im gonna give up..

i cant seem to figure out the tunning thing with the ostrich and tunerpro rt on my 88 beretta. the ecu is 7730

the only files that the car will run half way decent on are aryc.bin with a1.xdf

car doesnt run 100% right, after a while the ses light will come on and the idle will climb to about 2k. b4 that it idles REALLY rough at 1k

with the stock chip in the car idles at about 1500 (i think the tack is off)

i have tied the bfuz file and the rpms just pulse...

i cant get a data logger to work (free scan)

maby i just dont understand what im doing enough...

i would really like to at least get my car running decent with the ostrich and the stock 3400. if i cant would it be safe to run 3400 injectors on the stock 2.8 ecu with my built 3400(see sig)? at least to get it to a shop to tune?

My 3400 chip is based off the BFUZ code. What injectors are you using, 3400? 2000 or newer?

well, its a waste of time to use 2.8 injectors. Learning how to tune on a gen 3 is going to be interesting. I learned on a modded 3.1 with mustang injectors. Even if you tune it for 2.8 injectors, you will have to change quite a bit for the larger injectors that the engine will need. Using any A1 chip means 3.1 displacement. You need to adjust for the 3400 displacement, which is a part of the fuel injector constant (vs egr). Changing the gram/sec injector constant does nothing (its for the Driver Info Center).

idk i just want to figure out what i need to do and get everything working b4 i cut wires and switch injectors... i wanna make sure i can do it

so what do u think about running the stock 3400 or 3500 injectors on the stock 2.8. will it give it enough fuel to run with out damage? (on my built engine)

Run 3400 injectors on a stock 2.8? overkill. Im not even sure what you would want to do that for.

Im not saying you can't, but to learn how to tune with what you are doing is going to take some serious research and dedication. You need to get the fuel constant set first. Leave the stock spark table alone, as I know for a fact that it won't cause problems for you right now.

woops, i ment those injectors on the stock 2.8 ecu with my built engine

so its gonna take more that just adjusting the fuel to get it to run right when its done?

You can't run stock 3400 injectors on the 2.8 code. You have to adjust fuel constant, fuel tables, AE fueling, and then increase your spark. Thats the generalized version.

                  What about stock 3100 injectors?

no. You have to change the injector constant for any non stock injector you run.

Ok, well you can run it, but you can also spray a 400 shot of nitrous into a stock motor with the stock tune. When I say you can't run different injectors without tweaking the injector constant in the chip, that means for it to be right. I ran mustang injectors on the stock tune, and it had black smoke out the tail pipe and ran horribly. But I did it.

ok, so its not safe to run them? it wont work as a bandaid to drive it to a shop to get tuned? i figured that would be a bit better than running the 2.8 injectors on my new engine

It would be best to run the stock injectors to a shop if you are going to have someone else tune it. Of course, you have to swap the injectors out once you get there.

so it wouldnt be dangerously lean? it would be a 50 mile trip...

also, how did u learn to tune and understand the language?
