I'm attempting to use a software scanner program on my 88 Beretta, which has this ECM...but I'm trying to understand this stuff too.

Question - At Wiki for 1227730 ECM, they state:

The 1227730 ECM is an 'under dash' version of the 1227727. The ECM pinouts are different but the calibrations are the same.

so, in terms of a scanner program, does this mean anything? If you know this, could you use a program like TunerPro, along with another vehicle's definition that uses this same ECM, and somehow fine tune it for 88 Beretta?.

    thx

Let me check the Data Stream files in a few mins and I will see if it looks similar in output. What car's used the 1227727?

Well I read that you had the MAF delete so I'll keep that in mind.

A057 Data stream is 2.8 without MAF which a quick scanning is close enough to the A148 data stream which is 90-92 and there is a definition for tunerpro already made for that right here. It's passworded but the info is on moates.net on how to get it.

I would try that first. Otherwise it's finding someone that has made an .ADS file for it, or build one your self in TunerPro RT via the info from the .DS files in aldlstuff.zip from moates.net.

Correct...GM's Tech-1 would use setup for 1989 Beretta, for this 88 Beretta with Speed Denisty update.

          thanks.....alot of reading to do...

After Googling ECM #, I found out its running at 8192 baud...dam, that didn't help having Com1 configured at a lower baud.

            thanks again...
