on 1989 eldorado, I need temp sensor that will tell the computer that the engine is hotter than it is so as to begin fan operation around 200 rather than 230 or so... or any suggestions to get progressive fan to operate @ lower temperature... thanks

ahh this one is simple...
simply remove the o2 sensor (since they are useless anyways) and then remove your cts(coolant temperature sensor) and put it into the o2 hole.
you may have to cross thread it to get it in there good, so it doesnt fall out.
now you have your insto heated cts which will turn on fans much quicker than before.
jsut kidding...
i dont know much about 89 eldorado's, not sure what ecu the thing uses, or what code mask, but anyways your cts does more than just turn on fan temps, it plays a very important role along side your other sensors....
here is a little write up about the cts sensor ont his site
you can view other sensor inforamtion by clicking "detailed sensor descriptions" on the left side of the website, under "site navigation" and "in depth"
if you wanted to lower your fan on times you would have to do it in the code, on your ecm...
you would have to look on the ecm and get the service number that is printed on it, not sure if there are any editors out there that may suite your needs yet, untill you reply back with the proper information.
hope this helps

Or you could just find the fan relay (or hook up a new one) and hook up a thermistor that is placed in the radiator fins. They sell kits for this at Summit and such. Should be pretty universal for any aftermarket fan installation. Wouldn't be hard to rig up to work with the stock fans as well.-Brad-
