Serial to usb ?

hey everyone..
my wife just picked up a new laptop and i noticed it doesnt have any serial ports
doh!
can i still datalog with it? (i have the mastach connection i bought last year )
and i could allways use my home comp to burn chips..
has anyoen had any success using a converter ?
if so which one

keyspan makes one that I know phil uses. I only know it cause the drivers are still on this laptop. I couldn't tell you what model number specifically but you can look them up and find it hopefully.

I've been using the Keyspan USA19HS for my PowrTuner - check this link for info :

DHP recommends Keyspan.
Most AEM guys have had success with IOGear (including me).
The best is the Smart card to serial adapter or PC card adapter.

ahh thanks for the links..
i forgot to mention what scanning software im using..
so do you guys think this will work with freescan ?
cause you can only select com1 in freescan software lol
or is there other software that can be used?

i am using freescan and the same cable as you and my freescan freezes everytime

hmm got rid of the laptop, so i gues sno need for the adapters n stuff, ill have to throw my home computer in to diagnose/tune :P
its running like crap right now... eek
