  • 91-93 w body pcm question

most everyone recommends the 91-93 dohc pcm for its DF bin support.
i have been told that since i have a 4t60e i would really need to use the 93 w dohc pcm. we don't have a service manual here with the pin outs for the 93 dohc. got book 1 but not book 2 sucks huh. but i do have both books for the 92. but noticed its not a 4t60e but a 4t60. is there to much difference betwen the 2 trans or would it be ok to use the 92. i would rather the 93 but there are not a wiring diagrams here on 60*v6 for the 93 just the 92.

ok so looking further into the 92 ecm pinouts it won't match up good enought on the trans controls so i will need pin outs for the 93 w 3.4 dohc. so without hunting down a book or buying one would anyone happen to have the diagrams?

91-93 books will have the 4T60-E setup because of the 3.4 DOHC. You should have the wiring there. FYI, I was able to use my 3.1 wiring on my DOHC since I have a 5 speed. That means the wiring is almost all the same.

looking at the 92 ecm wiring diagram for the 3.4 dohc the service manual had 4t60. comparing that with the 95 3.1 4t60e the 92 did not list a pmw(tcc solenoid contol) it only listed the 1 tcc solinoid control plug in for the trans not for both controls.

There have been several different variations of the 4T60E and not all of them have the PWM TCC solenoid. In fact, it might not have even come out until 94 IIRC. You aren't going to find an exact match, so you'll just have to play around to get everything to work.

nothings perfect i know. but when i do decide to swap this in i need to know where to tie something in if it doesn't have an exact match.i get 2 days to make things like this work. i don't have another vehicle to drive so i am trying to make sure i have all my "ducks" in a row. ok so the 93 may not have a pwm tcc control. but i know my trans does. what i am trying to determin is if the pcm doesn't have a control for it were do i need to tie it to or do to make it function correctly. this was why i was asking if anyone had the gm service manual diagrams for the 93 w dohc. i have book 1 at work but i does not have the diagrams. i really need book 2 the gm one with the circuit #'s on them it's easier to sort out with the colors, circuit #'s and having the sensors and diagrams all on one page like gm manuals have them listed.

                See if this helps...

not really. if it was for the 93 w body it would but i got the beretta wiring.

but i do have a curiosity question. has anyone used a 3800 pcm from 93?
looking at some wirinf and it does have alot of matching circuits and the pwm tcc control.

just wondering if anyone has done one of those yet?

OMG... It has 94 Beretta wiring and 93 DOHC wiring. It is what I used when I was doing the swap. Beretta PCM should be on the left and the DOHC should be on the right. And you won't get it done it 2 days, I guarantee that. Even if you get it installed in that amount of time, it won't run very well until you get some tuning done on it. I've been there...

Does anyone know the internal differences between the 1227727, 1227730 and 16149396?

I mean, the 27 and 30 are basically equivalents to each other. You can interchage them and you probably wouldn't notice it, unless you're running boost and need a wastegate control (from the missing quad driver the 7727 has). You can run binaries from one in the other. The 9396 is "supposedly" the 27 with extra sram for the transmission. Uses the same weatherproof case.

Now, what is stopping a person from using the 9396 with $A1 or $8F code for a little extra coding room? Or vice versa, what's stopping a person from using the 7730/27 with $DF code with a manual tranny?
Okay now, that's enough of that.

ok i see what you got there now. didn't make much sense to me at first with the just the pcm #'s.
well i guess i'll see if it helps. i'll match what i can.

what about a 93 and earlier 3.8 pcm from a w-body. any one done that yet or is the pcm the same as the 3.4 dohc.
