Ryan - I think the basic point is, that if you or I or anyone else wants to go about cracking GMPCM go right on ahead, nobody is gonna stop you. But, 60DegreeV6 cant have anything to do with it. Else the site would end up getting shut down, and that would piss a lot more people off. So any speaking of it should be in private and taken care of through those channels.

And the DMCA has no provisions for a consumer, even if the author abandons the software. Sorry. But, it would be up to a court to ultimately decide if that was fair or not. I guess the worst you could do is bug the shit out of him and get BBB, lawyers and what not breathing fire at him til he gives up and abandons the copyright.

As a side note, it is illegal to fix a program the copyright holder broke. Even if the copyright holder's actions are 100% unethical, there's nothing that can be done from a legal standpoint.
