No. That would be hard since if you do not have a cookie cutter turbo kit put on exactly the same engine, the tuning will be different. You might be able to find one that the engine will run but it will still require a lot of tuning.
can you just leave the stock tuning and get an FMU and have it set to raise the line pressure with added boost.. true this wont be tuned very well, but you will have enough fuel
Fuel managment is not the only aspect of a forced induction motor, and by the time you have addressed other important factors such as correct timing under boost, you would have been much better off if you would have done it right to begin with.
Oiling feed for the turbo, put an attachment on the oil pan for the drain, intake plumbing, rear exhaust manifold, crossover, downpipe, turbo mount bracket, coolant system for the turbo if it has it, make space for all of the above, possibly larger fuel pump, heat sheilding, and lastly something with the ECM.
Take this the best way you can, but if you don't know what all the stuff does, how to fix it, and what all you need don't even think about starting it. Boosting a otherwise NA motor is not something to take lightly and you can cause serious drivetrain damage very easily.
imy pops owns a body shop and we have hook ups. so that wont be aproblem
i knew alot of the stuff i'd need but i wanted a clue on what oreder.and i'm pretty quick when it comes to cars so i'll have the rest of this turboing stuff down soon.
i swear...if one more person asks me how to open the fricken doors on my beretta......
95 Beretta (red)
3100 v6 58mm TB, K&N cone filter, dual exhaust. in the midst of rennovation (turbocharging & 5speed swap)
If your not that familar with turbos or need some references, then I would buy Corky Bell's "Maximum Boost". Its a very good book to own and it should be your bible while doing the conversion. As brian89gp said, turboing an NA engine is not something to be taken lightly. Take your time and do it right the first time, as if you do it wrong the first time there might not be a second. And don't listen to the kid who told you that even with the TGP computer that you'll need and afc(he must be a Honda owner J/K :P ). He obviously has no clue what's even different with a TGP computer.
What size turbo do you have?? And by y-pipe I assuming you mean a cross-over pipe right??
Priority list for Engine Management:
First choice, an aftermarket PCM/ECM...
Second choice, a reprogrammed PCM/ECM (eg TGP)
Third choice, a blackbox...
the last resort will be an FMU COUPLED with a timing computer or compensate with octane...but in other to enjoy the benefits, I will still save some money for the list above...oh BTW if you aren't versed on FI rather than getting abrasive and defensive, use that aggression to start some research...the potential of a turbocharged engine is ALMOST infinite...almost been the keyword...
