  • Custom Tuned 3100 Chip for Multech II Injectors

Does anyone have a 7730 chip that is tuned for a post 2k 3100 with Multech II injectors?

RE: Custom Tuned 3100 Chip for Multech II Injectors

I have something that is close for a 3400 but im still dealing with a stalling issue on hard braking (3400 in a fiero with the multec 2). If you are near warsaw, indiana, I could tune the car for you as well.

Damn, I'm in Dallas so it would be tough to get up there to get it tuned. I'd like to get this engine tuned once it's installed and the installation gremlins have been eradicated, however. I'm going to buy a chip burner to play around with...

Do you think it would be worthwhile to start with the old injectors or try from the start with the multech II's and your file?

Well, I sell chips so I won't be giving my files out. If you are going to learn how to tune, I would start with the multec 2 injectors and start with the base pulse constant to get the car to run. Then tune from there. I have no problem helping others tune their own car, though I run a store so obviously I have to protect my own interests as well.

I totally understand and wouldn't expect you to give them away. I'd be happy to pay for a chip that was already tuned and skip the tuning step altogether. However, at this point, it looks like I'm stuck with either using older injectors and the older FPR, or doing some tuning myself.

If you get a working tuned chip, I would be more than happy to pay for it. My donor engine only has 27K on it, so I'm sure the Mult. II injectors are good. If I go backwards on injectors, it's going to cost some money, so there's a cash outlay either way.

          Cheers!

What transmission will you be using? The tuning I am doing is on a fiero with a 5 speed using the 3400. The fueling is fine, and I might have the stalling figured out in the next week or so depending on when I can get more time with the car to test it out.

I'll be using a Jeep AX15 which is a 5 speed manual transmission. Because it's a 4x4 geared for off road use, most of my use will be in the lower RPM ranges. I really just need something that is reliable and doesn't knock or run lean.

A light fiero that is low to the ground may not be the best baseline for my vehicle since it's heavier and much taller (hence the reason that I think it's going to need some tuning), but we'll see.

If you get it figured out, let me know. I'll probably start the swap next weekend so I'm leaning towards just using old injectors and FPR at the moment. I imagine that I can sell the multech II's on ebay and recoup some of the cost for JY injectors that have been flow tested...

Stock injectors won't push enough fuel for max power, especially if you do any modding what so ever.

Im sure it will require some tweaking then compared to a fiero, but i have tuned some w bodies as well but those were modded and not really good for comparison. As far as tuning so it doesn't knock or run lean, I got that covered already really.

Well, I'm not planning on any performance upgrades since the engine in stock form will be a huge upgrade for me as is. I may do an underdrive pully somewhere down the road, but am not planning to do it now.

I don't anticipate a lot of fast breaking unless there is an accident on the freeway so that shouldn't be much of a problem. Low RPM performance and idle is much more important to me than high RPM performance.

I'd be willing to give your chip a try - if it doesn't work, I can always downgrade the injectors and FPR later... That will offset the costs of buying a chip burner too. What do you usually charge for a chip? PM me if you don't want to discuss prices in the forum.

                  Cheers!

125 plus shipping is my price on chips except for custom tuned chips. The 3400 swap chip I don't consider custom as its a stock motor just swapped in. I offer lifetime upgrades (if I find something that works better, ill upgrade all the chips sold previous). Same with changes like EGR off and on, shift points (not a concern for your setup) and some other changes. If it doesn't work quite like you want, you can either get a refund or I can make some changes and try again. If you have a laptop and cable to get datalogs of the vehicle, I can tune things better, though with major mods and such I charge more to do this type of long distance work as well. I doubt you gotta worry about this but I figured Id share as much information as possible up front.

Sounds good. I'll think about it for a few days and let you know.

                      Cheers!
