  • 4t60e trans temp sending unit

i was looking at my scanner and notice it displays trans temp. if it displays it, there has to be a sending unit for it and if there is a sending unit for it, can the signal be spliced into and ran to an actual electric guage from another gm vehicle or aftermarket?

if so would any aftermarket guage work? or a certain one? or how can i identify the model of the sending unit to try and find a guage to connect to it?

more questions then. do standard trans temp guages operate off of 5volts? and in the wiring diagrams there is only 1 wire listed for the trans temp signal on the 94 anyway. i also noticed there is an oil pressure signal wire listed in there too.

if these work i might have to go rice and buy a pillar pod for 2 guages. i want the oil pressure b/c it is important to know oil pressure and trans temp to monitor the effectiveness of a few coolers i may try.
