sensor question

i finished the preliminary part of wiring that apexi afc. i tested the tps it works, i am in the process of charging the battery so i can bump the starter to get a rpm reading.

but the car is missing the tb arm and tb for now and i was wondering if you can cheat the maf into giving a reading without the car running? like could i fire up the air compressor, hook up an air piece and blow into the sensor and it give a reading?

well the rpm signal is ok but no progress on the MAF. i take it the car has to be running to get it to give off a signal. i tried using an air chuck with to avail. any1 have any ideas on how to cheat this sensor to give off readings?
