  • Going to ODBII for a DHP any suggestions

Ok my current setup is a 3400 on a 95 Monte with a ODB1.5 ECU on stock 19lb injectors.

Im moving up to ODBII so I can get a DHP, I also will be going from a T60-e trans to a T65-hd trans. I am collecting the parts now.

I already have new fuel rails and 22.5lb injectors being sent out to be cleaned and balenced by Witchhunter. I also have the fuel injector harness.

I will be getting all my parts from 00-02 model year cars to keep things as consistent and easy as possible.

Further I know I will need:
    22.5Lb Injectors (already have)
3400 Fuel rail (they are prob the same as the 3100 but I got it for free so why not)
    ODB2/3400 Injector Harness (already have)
    Upper Intake Manifold
    Egr
ODBII Engine Harness (sourced from an 00-02 MC LS)
    Core PCM
t65-hd Tranny (out of an 00-02 GP or Poliece package Impala, what else got the t65-hd?)
Axels (?? Im not sure about this I know they have to get GTP axels when putting a t65-hd in for the L67 swap but im not sure, anyone care to help on this one?)
    MAF Sensor
2nd O2 Sensor Spoof (Just a resistor correct? thanks for reminding me Rhedalert)

Thats about all I can think of that I would need, is there anything Im missing. Are there any sensors that I may need other than MAF to go from 1.5 to 2.0?

Aside from that my only other concern is the gauge cluster. I already need to splice into my temp sensor to get my stock temp gauge working, ive just been to laszy. Will there be anything else I will need to change to make sure all my other stock cluster gauges still work, or will that part just be plug and play?

    Let me know your thoughts.

That list looks pretty complete to me, but I'll defer to the guys who have swapped fromOBD 1.5 before.

Sorta unrelated, let me know how satisfied you are with Witchhunter's injector service.

have the 2nd O2 removed by DHP, the resistor will not work unless you actually HAVE the 2nd O2 in the exhaust and is sending a bad signal due to a high flow cat.

have the EGR removed by DHP, you will thank me later when you go boost again.

maybe look into a regular 4t65 and get the HD upgrades for it and better gearing, i hear its cheaper to do it that way and better.

The 4T65E-HD was in any car with a Series II L67. So basically a:

        '96-03 Bonneville SSEi
'97 or newer Grand Prix GTP
        '97 or newer Regal GS
'97 (possibly '96 too) Park Avenue Ultra
'04 or newer Supercharged Monte Carlo SS

I know there are a few more, but that should give you a large selection.

Yeah, ive noticed that the L67s got 2.93 gearing or something crappy like that while the L36s got the 3.29.

My current gearing is 3.33 and I dont want to go down to 2.9x. I can def stand a drop to 3.29

If the moneys right Ill do a diff and 3.69 gears right away but I have a feeling I will need to save up for that.

Not really worth it if you are going to go back to been turbocharged...especially if you get a looser converter...

Well I do plan on going back to boost, but why would it not be worth it boosted to have a steeper gear ratio? Too much top end loss?
