Well for anyone having the same issue as discribed, and comes across this thread, the problem was the plug wires, mainly a single boot on the coil pack. Found it by soaking everything down, and fearing a shock by having the car running and moving every wire around. Only got a small shock though

The break may not have been in the coil boot, but that was the path of least resistance to ground. Your body had less resistance then the spark gap atm of shock.

I had a bad plug wire once, everything was fine at idle and reving in park (no load). But the moment I floored it in gear the misfires were noticeable.

It is good to have some resistance in the plug wires.

Some cheaper spark plug wires, the boot that protects the spark plug when attached, they can slide down and prevent the terminal from snapping into place.

I'm not happy until I can feel it click. If I can't positively without a doubt feel it click into place I undo it and try again. Also dielectric grease rocks. Helps the boot slide on, will allow you to remove wires a year later and helps keep oil and water out. I don't put a wire back on without it.

And there always seems to be one cable that engages the plug w/o the click. Thinking it didn't lock, only to find it did when I feel it click pulling it off the plug.

Ditto, but at least then I know it it had clicked and try to be more sensitive to the click on round two.
