  • Some 7730 questions

I am just about done wiring this 7730 into my 3500/700R4 into an 80 Monza and there are a few things I am unclear on. I think I will take them one at a time.
First one is I am unclear as to the wiring to the Brake light switch to shut down the TCC.
The 700R4 wiring I have been looking at looks as though the purple wire should be wired from the brake light switch to the trans so that when the brake is depressed current is lost and the TCC shuts down. That purple wire never goes to the ECM. It looks like the signal to turn The TCC on comes from a tan/black wire from the ECM.

However the wiring diagram I am looking at for the 91 cavalier that I took this wiring harness and computer off of looks shows the purple wire comes from the ECM then splits and goes to the TCC and also the brake light switch. It looks to me as though it is wired so that when the brakes are depressed than current is applied to the purple wire signaling the computer to shut down the TCC. Maybe I am reading something wrong though because there are only two wires coming from the TCC plug that was on the harness, and it has to get power from somewhere.
Can someone explain to me how I need to integrate this to make it work?
    Thanks
    Roy

Pretty sure it's a series circuit... Power comes from the computer, in series with the brake switch then to the trans... makes sense that way. I don't think it splits anywhere...

Yeah, ok that makes sense. The pnk/blk. is the hot. it's in series with the brake switch to the torque. the after the switch it's also going to an input on the ECM. Hook it up that way.

comes from the ECM then splits and goes to the TCC and also the brake light switch. It looks to me as though it is wired so that when the brakes are depressed than current is applied to the purple wire signaling the computer to shut down the TCC.
      Yap.

Ahhh the joys of having a non-lockup TH350.

Ok time for my next question. Does the Green/White wire that the diagram says goes to the cooling fan provide the 12V to turn on the relay, or does it provide a path for the ground?
        Thanks

          It's a path to ground.
