i don't even know what it's for yet....

also, last teaser for the day: VE tables(main and idle, no adder) in the tune are stored as 16 bit tables... the highest value in the stock tables is the decimal equivalent of 1,056...

if that last part makes no sense, think of it this way: if a stock 3100 requires 1,056 for a correct amount of fuel, and it's VE is somewhere around maybe 80 or 85%, and the maximum value possible is 65,535...... well let's just say that VE values beyond 100% are entirely possible to be stored without any trickery.

        i'm a liar...

final interesting piece of information i'll release today:

the only difference between the tunes of a 94-95 L82 L, N, or W body, and a 94-95 automatic or manual trans L32 F-body is in the calibrations....

cliffsnotes: the 94-95 3.4 automatic cars run a 4L60E.... meaning pressure control solenoid. so you can actually run a 4T45/4T65/4T80/4Whatever on the 94-95 3.4/automatic PCM, just have to setup the options in the tune to do so.

turn the 4t60-e to 8k shift points! Well that wouldn't exactly do much other than make the tranny explode. Though if it was possible i think it would be nice to change a stored tune for like a 3k shift point that way my brother can't beat on the car to hard while he runs an errand in it.

based off of what i've seen so far..... you may be able to use what is normally the "2nd gear start" or "snow shift" (depends on platform) tables to have an alternate set of shift points... this is assuming there isn't any type of normal / performance shift stuff setup already.

            just hide the switch somewhere.

I don't know what this Snow Shift is, the car does something not normal when you start in 2nd?. Knowing this might be nice snice. I take it the term snow shift means it helps in snow?

I've never heard the term "snow shift" but 2'nd gear start causes the PCM to skip first gear for traction's sake.

That sounds nice for when the lazy city doesnt send the snow plows out till the 3rd day after a snow storm and the roads are nothing but ice. Though i wonder how much help it can be when just taking my foot off the brake causes the tires to spin.

considering the 1-2 gap on a 4T60E, i'd say it would help quite a bit... but the PCM actually has an entire set of shift point tables specifically for when the 2nd gear start function is active, so it may be possible to just lower all of the MPH values so it won't rev so far during driving.

Neat!, once the winter drops the frist load of snow, and i think that would be awesome if that possilbe, just install a switch that would make it a bit easier to drive, though i have managed quite well without it, but last year was to much, with the snow plows taking forever, then doing a bad job that scrapes all the snow away leaving a layer of compacted snow that turns to glare ice. Even my dad's F-150 had trouble starting in some spots.

i don't know if it was laziness or awesomeness, but GM left the lean cruise code from A1 intact in the 93-95 flash stuff.

it already has it's MPH values set and 15.4:1 target AFR, just requires 1 switch to be toggled and BAM, you has leaner than 14.7:1(which is also adjustable like the old stuff) in light load situations.

this thread keeps getting better, now lean cruise, gas savings! now to wait and see if GM has any other goodies hidden in these ECMs

i'm not gonna spill anything too forward yet, but this is VERY close to initial release at this point.

what i will mention is that the flash PCM code is nearly identical to A1/DF, with the obvious additions of SFI, the different trans control and diagnostics.

Awesome, this could save me alot of hassle in the future.
I'm finishing up a 3.4L/4L60E swap and I'm currently using the stock PCM from the 94 Camaro tucked nicely out of the way under the hood of my Chevette.
Future plans include 3500 top-swap and I wasn't looking forward to modifying for a different PCM and wiring.

Having been working with madtuner today, and this interface is very easy to use even for someone like me who hasn't even touched a tuning progam other than a tech2 for code pulling at college. Madtuners work is nice even told me my ecm did not have the update bin.
