the same definition will work on FWD or RWD applications. keep in mind that there are actually 4 versions of the BINs out there though, i've only focused on version 4 since not only is it the latest revision, but it has most, if not all applications covered.
There's hope! I have been searching far and wide for the files to use in ProTuner so that I can figure out what is wrong with my car. Have the documents that you were working on been published any where? My car is a L32 3.4 L v6. I purchased a cable for this application and loaded ProTuner RT. Mark Mansur suggested the $EE files but I haven't had any success. Protuner says it is connected but all of the parameters just roll randomly. Please let me know where to look for your handi-work.

        you'll need the 93-95 P66 V6 ADX.

assuming you're using TunerPro V5, this will work. if it doesn't save correctly, let me know and i'll upload it as a ZIP file.

I'm having a little problem. When I try to load the definition, I get a blank post in the middle of the TunerPro page and the application stops responding. Am I doing something wrong?

are you running the latest version of TunerPro? 5.00.8075 is the newest version.

is there a log loaded? depending on the speed of your computer, if a log is loaded and a new ADX is selected, it can take some time for TP to redecipher the XDL log. this depends on both the speed of the computer and size of the log.

              can you take a screenshot?

The version I have is 5.0.8040.0 so, I'll get the latest version. My computer is kinda' old so, I may just need to be more patient. I can't get a screen shot while the app isn't responding. Let me update TunerPro and try again.

                Thanks

The files that I selected for use were removed from TunerPro when I upgraded to the latest version. The file you sent has been loaded now. I found A278.ads for the bin but I am not sure what to use for the xdf. Any suggestions/ recommendations? Sorry, I have never used TP before. Please be patient.

                  Thanks.

loading a BIN(tune/calibration), you'll be loading an actual .BIN file.
loading a XDF(basically a map of the calibration), you'll be loading a .XDF file.
                    loading a ADX(datastream file), you'll need a .ADX file.

with the file i posted, you're able to interact with the datastream.

I've been looking for these files on the internet in lots of places. Any advice as to where I can find them? Initially I got the impression that I would download them from the PCM in my car. Is that right or not?

the BIN, you can grab from the PCM.

the XDF is created by someone who has hacked through the BIN to find out what all of the bytes in the calibration do.

the ADX is also created by someone who has information on what is in the datastream.

Thanks for your patience and tolerance. Some files exist that look like they may work but, I'm not sure. Is there a web site or someone who sells this stuff? I really need to know I have the correct files. It is still better than buying a Tech 2 scanner. By the way, my car is a manual transmission. Seems like the files for these cars are tougher to find.

                          Thanks.

Use at own risk. i've been delaying releasing this so that i can test as much as possible, but i can't test everything...

this XDF works for all Gen 3 P66 V6 BINs. if you open a Gen 0, 1 or 2 BIN, idle and main VE will look VERY odd.... as will other simple things like target idle speed. i'll have to make a list of which ones work and which ones don't... there are 6 total that won't work and 49 that will, so there's a pretty good chance that whatever BIN your PCM is currently running is compatible.

also, there is a complete lack of organization... everything is entered in the exact order that they appear in the BIN.

Thanks sooo much! Is there an organization that I can donate to to help you out with your work? I know that you have helped thousands, maybe even millions by being unselfish and sharing your knowledge. I want you to know that we appreciate all that you do.

i just want people to do their own tuning.... or at least have someone who knows what they're doing at the wheel....

no more of this JET/Hypertech/etc crap...... or the ebay geniuses that are somehow selling a resistor in a box for 100X what they paid to create it.
