I disconnected the pcv system and started the motor... it ran perfectly clean for about 5 mins. No smoke at all, it idled, rev, no smoke. Then after about 5 minutes the blue smoke started. I let it run another 10 minutes or so and it was still smoking but possibly slightly less. Could it just be oil soaked manifolds at this point that need time to clear out?

odd... i just had that ADX loaded a few hours ago and it was working on my machine...

but to export to CSV, load the log you want dumped, press Acquisition -> Export Log File

then choose what you want dumped, and go from there.

IMO, the TP XDLs are more useful though, since they can be manipulated more than a CSV can.

Freescan doesn't seem to work on my laptop. It connects and reads data from the ECM only with the motor off. Once I start it, it connects and instantly disconnects. It's been like this on every computer ive ever had that didn't have a serial port. I use a USB/serial adapter and tuner pro works.

watch that DOHC spark advance table.. the LX9 doesn't like more than 28 degrees at WOT

First off, thanks again - I really appreciate all who have helped me out along the way and continue to provide their support!

Second - I am no longer burning oil! Thank God! It was the pcv system all along. I just got back from a drive (pcv is completely disconnected) and I didn't see any smoke whatsoever! I'll be installing a catch can on the pcv system.

Now, since I did just go for a drive - I datalogged the whole thing, from cold start, a bit of idle, cruising, accel, decel. It's all there. The car is idling fairly smooth in closed loop, though I still suspect a bit rich. It cruises OK but seems like it is missing some torque. Under light acceleration it is OK at best, torque feels down. And under hard acceleration it is just not there, it is missing a boatload of power.

In this zip file are the TunerPro datalog that can be run in TunerPro (xdl) and I also dumped that data into a spreadsheet since some prefer that format (thats Robert for reminding me how). Here is the file: LX9 running stock LQ1 bin, driving.zip

I'd like to get a revised bin in there soon. It isnt too driveable as is. The other big issue is that it desperately needs an alignment since I put a new rack in with the new motor. The alignment is way off and I don't want to damage the tires but driving it much more, but on the flip side I don't want to bring a car that barely runs to the shop for an alignment. So if we can get a bin that runs better based on the posted datalogs that would be a huge start.

              thanks again guys!

exactly which LQ1 BIN are you running?

i have a smoothed/modded spark table that Dave posted for a 3500 a while ago, seems to work alright.

i also have a VE table from a factory 3500 tune, not sure how accurate it is, but it can't be that bad, GM made it.

also: post the ADX you're using, the stream issues are incredibly difficult to work around...

also, you saw 11* of KR at WOT!

I use the df.ecu file that is available in the downloads parts of 60v6.
                    This is it here: DF.ecu

The thing runs awful at WOT. I think Dave mentioned the LX9 doesnt like too much spark advance so that could explain the KR. But this thing feels completely choked at WOT. I'm not TOO concerned with what it does at WOT right now. I need it to idle and drive right to get it through emissions, then WOT stuff can come later.

I guess I'm not sure what you are asking by which dohc bin I am using... I'm not really sure what your asking? Do you mean that 4 letter code? I really don't know. It is the bin right off my stock memcal (91, 3.4, 5sp). I downloaded it from the factory memcal and burned it to my memcal that has the reflashable chip.

This is the bin, I dont know if that helps you? Stock LQ1 5 speed.bin

I think your file is corrupt. I emailed you the stock file I have. Don't do any WOT now. Idle first, then cruise and decel, then heavy acceleration and WOT.

here's a quick one from me...

something is definitely wrong with that BIN.... spark and VE tables are ALL kinds of messed up.

here's a BCFA with a spark table courtesy of Dave(with some MINOR adjustments from myself, mostly smoothing), and a VE table via general motors.

I tried the bin out that Ben sent me.
Since tuning idle comes first thats all I did. At the very end I did hold the revs up just a bit, I was trying to get the motor a little hotter.

Anyway, the attached zip has the bin used, the TunerPro xld log and the data in a spreadsheet. BCFA1618 idle data log.zip

I'll let it cool back down and then I can try to bin that Robert attached in his post. I think its important to let it cool so we can see some open loop data too. That is unless you guys think we should just build off the BCFA1618 bin, I can see how me datalogging/using multiple bins can get confusing or slow the process. You guys let me know.

Still have glitches in the scan but its better. Not sure what that is about with the TPS at 9% and the MAP kpa going to 101 randomly. Idle needs less fuel. I am not going to work on 2 bins at once and since robert already made changes I see no reason to start another modified file.

relevant question: what version of TP V5 are you using?

the most current version is 5.00.7575, which was released ~ 2 weeks ago, i don't know if Mark implimented in any bugfixes to fix datastream issues since whatever version you may be running.
