i wish Tunerpro's site was as informative as this one.....

It needs a, "gettings started, for stupid people" section.

It also needs to be fixed, anyone who has a registered UN there, let them know it won't let any email register in the forum and their tunerproRT download file is corrupt.

All i wanted to do was fool around with some bins. get an idea of what i plan on screwing with. program opens, it says i loaded the bin, downloaded their bins too.... but no numbers, graphs or pretty colors show up.

Low/No flow EGR valve, block off plate.
Carbon canister and purge valve mod, place in large 30 Gallon can, cover, and place curbside, the city will do the rest.
PCV valve and vent tube, reroute to exhaust to dump where it belongs, on the ground. Or add breathers and let it all free.

if you have the bin loaded, did you load either an .XDF or .ECU?

that's how you'll see you pretty colors and graphs and stuff...

i really didn't think it was necessary but a lot of people have questions about TP and tuning OBD1 in general, i may just have to make a write-up on that too.

Goto the page. Right above introduction, can you see a button labeled EDIT? If so, that is how you can add to it. Otherwise, copy/paste it into a word processor program and edit it. Save the file, send it to me, and I'll update the page.

ok, so will i be able to fine tune your chip with tunerpro? Understand, I love the fact that I get free fine tuning through you, but that doesn't help me saturday night at the track when i need to flash it right then and there.

I've located a 1227730 ecm. I can go looking for something else just let me know what its in and i'll hunt if that ain't going to work for me.

Will i still be able to use my Genesis scanner to datalog with your chip?

Why is this feeling so difficult for me? I went and read your link, read as much as i could at moates, and I now feel more lost then when i started. I"M NOT A MORON! I should be able to figure this out!

                  Sssssssssssssssssssssslow down.

1227730 is that the 3 plug or the 4 plug? and what are you getting it out of?

and WTF is a genesis scanner? tunerpro does datalogging about as well as anything.

and the "lost" feeling is normal, this is DEFINATELY one of those things that requires you to do it, not read about it, but having guidance makes it easier to relate stuff.

heres the new version of the guide i am adding on to, it might help to take a good, long read...

EDIT: and i don't know why i didn't think of this earlier, but going back to the 7727/7730 would avoid the possible tranny issues the 16149396 would have, since the 7727/7730 couldn't care less what tranny it has...

DOUBLE EDIT: nevermind about the plug thing, its the three plug, but i can't stress this part enough, what are you planning on pulling it out of? i'll say this now, it NEEDS to be from a 60* motor, or at least we'll need to have a EPROM(from any ECU, actually) from a 60* motor, or else starting may not happen. the only 2 things we need it for are for knock sensor filtering, and start-up, since the original chip is getting bypassed for the custom tune. and i hate to ask this because it will probably frustrate you more but have you discussed which codemask you will be running?

FINAL EDIT: guide removed, newest version is at http://60degreev6.com/forum/f104/the...-thread-t43453 post#1

Berretta, corsica, or celebrity I think, I had the years and everything written down before, i'll just have to look it up again. And give me some credit! I know it has to come from a 60 deg car! LOL or I'll be short injector drivers and such.

as far as codemask...ya i read that somewhere....does it matter? is one better then the other? and what car should i be pulling it from and what chip should i be looking for? Last time i looked i think i had around 4 dozen cars to go through and choose ecu's from. You got to love the pull-a-part and the junkyards i have access to in northern ohio!

as far as codemasks go, i think A1 would be the best choice. its the most thorough as far as i know, when it comes to 6 cylinders from the factory. as for the exact chip, or chip and ECM if you find it, it would think from a 3.1 would be best since its probably the most similar design to the 3100...

EDIT: and i don't think it would be missing injector drivers since the 27/30 are batch(or bank, i forgot) fire, it only has 2 drivers wether it has 6 or 8 cylinders...

how do i find or plan on a codemask? is that on the comp I'm pulling? why does that feel like a real dumb question?

this is a concept that took me a while to grasp as well.

the codemask can be changed in relation to the ECU.

example: a 1227727 runs a bunch, 2 being 88 and A1. my wife's GP came from the factory with 88, but should i choose to, i can run A1 by swapping some pins around in the ECU connectors, and by telling the ECU that i'm using A1 by changing a certain value in the bin from 88 to A1.

                          make sense???

yes makes sense. so how do you tell which one you have? Is there a outside physical way to tell? will i be able to yank a ecu at the junkyard and look at which one it is?

how to tell: the broadcast code, which if you don't know if the 4 letter code on the EPROM. although it doesn't really matter what it was unless you're pulling the whole engine harness. if you're pulling just the ECU, its plugs and some wire sticking out of the plugs, then you'll obviously have to connect the wires sticking out of the 1227730 plugs to the rest of the harness thats in your car.

                              anything else?
