i believe mine has a 3.29 or 3.33 gear, but i don't know what it is expecting... but yes, the core idea has rolled around in my head... if not, i'll hit up the local JY for them...

I really doubt you'd be able to get more free samples from PSG. You will most likely have to pay for the next set you try to get. But in that case, they may be quicker to ship them if they are getting money for them.

i just don't have the capability to order 500 at a time, which is their minimum for some of the parts...

and i wasn't planning on getting more samples, they've given me what i need to know how to get the application to work(the entire purpose of the sample idea), so now i just need to get them some other way.

mouser.com? never heard of that.... i guess i should ask potential buyers wether they want them cheaper or newer....

so tack on an extra 36 plus shipping to the price or use the core of the existing obd1.5 PCM...

unless somebody is trying to do a show quality car, i have a feeling as to which one they would choose.

OK. Started digging into the car today and noticed that the V6 f-body ECM has only a removable knock module. The service number is 16172693 for the '93. I have read that the '94-'95 LT1 V8 ECM is a direct plug in and has a "MEMCAL" similar to the older stuff that Moates has an adapter for. Can you confirm via All Data that the connectors are the same? If so, it would be a matter of pluggin in the V8 ECM and using the V6 knock module and I won't have to piggyback, and this would allow us to tune the 93-95 without having to do a complete ECM swap or piggyback.

I'll post some pics of the disassembled ECM in a few moments...

what connectors do you mean john?

EDIT: the PCM connectors? and does the knock module include the start-up procedure like the older stuff?

                  i'll look for the 93 V6 and 95 V8 pinouts now...

After thinking about it for another moment, the '94-'95 used an electronic transmission and may cause a problem if using one on a 700r4, a manual ECM may work, but would lose TCC lockup perhaps?

I guess what I need to know if the three ECM connectors (to connect the ECM to the harness) are the same from an LT1 f-body as they are from the V6. I have a hunch that they are since GM likes to keep thing universal, could you post the '93 (and maybe the 94-95) LT1 ECM pinouts? I have a feeling that it may be the same situation I have now with the "MEMCAL" may just be a knock module from a '93 ECM, still researching that.

                    Thanks Robert

i'll say this now, the LT1 PCM has 4 connectors...

EDIT: and do you want the 94-95 LT1 AND 93 LT1 pinouts? or 93 3.4?

That's right, it has the opti-spark. hmm...

After going over these '93, '94 and '95 pinouts I have only noticed a couple of differences.

                        Here is a list I found of OBD1 ECM's

Do you know if any of the '93's listed have a removable PROM?

Oops that reminds me, I was going to post pics...

                          here's three.

                          93 3.4
                          93 5.7
                          95 5.7

EDIT: as far as PROMs, you would know before i do... i find it interesting that the 93 3.1 PCMs are the same as the 93 3.4 F-body, didn't you say that was a flash PROM? i've read that the 93 3.1s got the 16149396....

DOUBLE EDIT: removed the V8 pinouts, totally unecessary for what we're doing

went to rockauto, now i'm confused....

take a look at all the different PCM/ECMs were used for a 93 3.1 lumina...

i see the 1227727(used in a lot of stuff), 16149396(the 91-93 DF PCM), 16172693(the flash PCM) and 16184164(which apparently was a 93 3.1 only PCM). the rest were just rehashes of the same PCM i think, with different part numbers.

I'm reading 777727 on your attachment, not the 1227727.

You say the 16184164 has a PROM? Are the harness connectors the same?
