  • 3500 running on 3400 ecu

    im putting a 3500 in my cavalier and running it with the a ecm from a 2001 grand am. i need to get the auto tranny codes and the passlock stuff deleted. does any one know of anything else i should get changed and any recomendations of were is a good place to have it done?

        I believe the Passlock stuff was in the BCM, not PCM. But don't quote me on it. I do know that mpracing.com should be able to delete your codes. But he made need the car in person to do this. I also think you'll need some jumpers for certain pins so that the PCM will think it's in P or N all the time. Check out this thread(I know it's long) but it should cover what pins need to be jumped.

          thanx alot that linked helped but i was more woried about getting the computer tuned. anyone know for sure if passlock is in the grand am ecm or not and would the engine run with the auto codes still in there jw i am planning on getting them deleted but just wondering.

            so passlock and tranny stuff aside the 3400 ecu will run the 3500 without being tuned? or should i have ay thing else changed to run the engine correctly

                what are u having them change for u just the auto and passlock? and why a van pcm?

                  its what they recommended, im guessing they probably already have the code files for it, meaning they dont need to pay extra for the ecu set in their programming software? not really sure how that works..
                  im having evap and egr disabled, passkey/vatts, and setting it up for a higherflowing engine with a 4speed manual.

                  and later when i turbo it....that too..
