I haven't seen a thread that says how to install a HUD in a car that doesnt have one.. Thought I would share my experience with it...
I have a 95 Prix,HUD came from a 94' Prix,Several of the cars in the yard that didnt have HUD had the wiring for HUD,but mine did not.. So
HUD wires
1994-1996 HUD wiring:
A1: BROWN - HUD on/off
A2: GRAY/BLACK - PARK LAMPS on
A3: EMPTY
A4: DARK GREEN - VSS
A5: TAN - OIL PRESSURE
A6: DARK GREEN/WHITE - LOW FUEL
A7: LIGHT BLUE - LEFT turn
A8: BLACK - GROUND
B1: YELLOW - HUD up
B2: BROWN - HUD down
B3: LIGHT BLUE - E/M conversion
B4: BROWN - CHARGE indicator
B5: DARK GREEN - COOLANT temp
B6: LIGHT GREEN - HIGH BEAMS
B7: DARK BLUE - RIGHT turn
B8: WHITE - DISPLAY Dimmer
Basically stuff like right/left turn/charge/tmp/oil pressure, all take a positive input, and I soldered all mine to the back of my gauge cluster, instead of cutting into the harness..
The VSS I had to run all the way back to the computer in order to get it to work right,Just one wire and the was VSS-OUT on a OBD 1.5 setup it is pin B28 a DARK GREEN wire, then has a YELLOW and PURPLE right next to it wich are the VSS-IN's..
All I lack now is hooking up the dimmer switch, and positioning switch,Which are next to the light switch now This type of HUD can be put into just about anything...
yea the windshield on the van is tinted
