  • tuneing for 94 z26

ok I have a 94 beretta z26 with a 3.1 auto cold air intake full exhaust with no cat or mufflers and I want to add a 50 shot of nos for now till I have time to do a 3400 swap my question is how can I tune my car since its obd 1.5 and to remove the top speed limiter am I better off finding a 96 doner car and going to obd 2 if so what kind of cars would work and how hard is it to do the 3400 swap

    1) Swap to OBD2. How to is on bstuff.com and use DHP or HP tuners to tune. Using a 97 venture ECM for DHP is best (newer, more tables opened up, etc) or a monte carlo 97 ecm for HP tuners I believe.

    or

    2) Run mega squirt piggy backed to stock ecm. Stock ECM could control trans and speedometer, fuel pump, ac ,etc. MS would do spark and fuel.

3400 swap is very easy. only minor things to address such as 3 wire CTS, and coolant pipe in the LIM, and an EGR adapter (wottech.com). But if going to OBD2 you won't need EGR adapter as you can run the new EGR of course then.

3400 runs good enough on obd1.5 if you use the 3100 injectors. If you plan on modding it more and/or are really serious about getting the full power out of it tuning of course is the way to go. (and then you can use the larger 3400 injectors).

    www.3400swap.com will show some details.
