  • 97 PCM --> 95 Camaro 3.4

    Hi all,

    I've been reading up about the OBD1.5 --> OBD2 swap. If I wanted to swap a 1997 PCM into a 1995 car, it appears I need to do the following:

    1. Repin the connectors
    2. Add a MAF (if desired)
    3. Swap ABS computer/brake booster
    4. Knock sensor swap

    There's other requirements, with the EGR, EVAP, Rear O2s, but I don't really care about those things so I can just disable them. It's a manual transmission car so the automatic transmission switches, and various things aren't relevant.

    Anything I'm missing?

    It might be easier to go to 93 OBD1 since that is tuneable. Then you can use the 60* code for that year to tune with instead of a 3800 code.

      I was thinking '97 might be better because it has a MAF and I'd like to go FI down the road...

      If I went with '93, are any of the issues mentioned above relevant?
